I HAVE 2004 HARLEY DAVIDSON ROAD KING POLICE. I WAS COMING DOWN THE CANYON AND MY REAR BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON A CURVE. I USED AS MUCH FRONT BRAKE AS I COULD WITH OUTLOCKING UP THE WHEEL. BEFORE I COULD STOP I HAD TO GO OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. I THEN HAD TO LAY THE BIKE DOWN TO AVOID GOING IN THE RIVER. A GUY STOPPED AND HELPED ME GET IT BACK UP TO THE ROAD. I NOTICE WHEN I PUSHED THE REAR BRAKE PEDAL THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS SPRAYING OUT OF THE METAL BRAKE LINE ABOUT 2" BEHIND THE MASTER CYLINDER. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT HOME. I TOOK THE VIN# INTO TIMP HARLEY IN LINDON,UTAH AND ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY OTHER REPORTS OR RECALLS THEY TOLD ME NO. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A PHONE NUMBER TO HARLEY DAVIDSON THAT I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT TO. THEY TOLD ME NO BECAUSE THE BIKE WAS 6 YRS OLD AND HARLEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I HAD THEN HAD THEM CHECK THE PRICE AND AVAILABILITY OF A NEW BRAKE LINE. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ABOUT $70.00 BUT WHEN THEY CHECKED THE AVAILABILITY THEY FOUND THE BRAKE LINE MINE USED HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED AND THERE WAS A UPDATED LINE THAT WOULD COST OVER $160.00 AND WAS ON BACKORDER. IT SEEMS TO ME THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM IF THEY HAVE DISCONTINUING THE ORIGINAL LINE AND HAVE A BACKORDER ON THE NEW UPDATED LINE. I THANK GOD I DIDN'T HAVE MY WIFE OR KID ON WITH ME WHEN I CRASHED AND I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE RECALLING ALL OF THE UNSAFE LINES AND INSTALLING THE UPDATED LINE AT THE MFGS EXPENSE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR
