WE PURCHASED A NEW GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION 5TH WHEEL IN APRIL OF 2014. WE HAVE HAD CONSIDERABLE PROBLEMS WITH IT, BUT NEVER EXPECTED TO FIND THAT THE BRAKES, GREASE SEALS, AND WHEEL BEARINGS WERE IN INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I BECAME AWARE THAT THERE WERE MANY REPORTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE GREASE SEALS AND WHEEL BEARINGS. I WAS IN TEXAS AND WE HAD THE GREASE SEALS AND WHEEL BEARINGS SERVICED. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT ALL OF THE GREASE SEALS WERE LEAKING AND THE BEARINGS WERE NOT ADJUSTED CORRECTLY. I HAD ALL OF THE GREASE SEALS REPLACED AND THE BEARINGS PACKED CORRECTLY AND INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I AM AMAZED THAT WE HAD NOT HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN THE 15,000 MILES THAT WE HAD TRAVELLED. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
THE AXLE GREASE SEALS INSTALLED BY LIPPERT COMPONENTS HAVE FAILED. THIS HAS CAUSED GREASE TO ENTER THE BRAKES AND RESULTED IN DIMINISHED BRAKING CAPABILITY. *TR

WHILE CAMPING WITH THIS 5TH WHEEL CAMPER, UPON INSPECTION OF WHY THE FENDERS WERE VIBRATING SO MUCH WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, TWO OF THE BRACES WERE BROKEN AND READY TO FALL OFF. SINCE THEN I INSPECT THESE BRACES BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BY ONE BREAKING OFF AND HITTING A CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE HAD ANOTHER OCCURRENCE WITH A BRACKET BREAKING OFF. I MENTIONED THE BRACKETS BREAKING ON A VISIT TO A DEALER. HIS REPLY WAS WE HAVE TO FIX THESE MANY TIMES. THIS SEEMS VERY UNSAFE TO HAVE THE BRACKET BREAKING OFF AND POSSIBLY HITTING A VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. THE BRACKETS DON'T BREAK OFF IN THE DRIVEWAY.THE BRACKET IS STEEL, SHAPED LIKE A "Z", DIMENSIONS OF ABOUT 14 INCHES X 1 INCH BY ABOUT 1/8 INCH THICK. AT THE BOTTOM A SELF TAPPING SCREW IS SCREWED THROUGH THE FENDER TO THE BRACKET AND AT THE TOP ANOTHER SELF TAPPING SCREW IS SCREWED THROUGH THE BRACKET AND INTO THE FRAME. THE FLEXING IS ABSORBED BY THE SCREW AND SINCE THEY ARE HARDENED WILL BREAK. *TR
