THIS IS MY FIRST TIME TO HAVE A VEHICLE WITH PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS. THEY DO NOT LIGHT UP THE SIDES OF ROAD, AND ARE NOT VERY BRIGHT IN DIM OR HIGH BEAM. THIS IS NOT VERY SAFE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS GOOD. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THESE TYPE OF HEADLIGHTS. *TR

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE HORRIBLE. DRIVING ON ROADS WITH NO STREET LIGHTS IS DANGEROUS. THE HIGH BEAMS DO NOTHING AT ALL EXCEPT LIGHT UP TREE TOPS. *TR

MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE HOW DIM THE OEM HEADLIGHTS ARE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO GMC REGARDING THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE RESPONSE IS THAT THEY ARE OK WITH HOW DIM THE LIGHTS ARE. COMPARED TO OTHER VEHICLES I OWN/HAVE OWNED THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM TO THE POINT OF BEING DANGEROUS. *TR

THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON LINE AND THEY ARE ALL WITH THE SAME ISSUES. IT HAS TO DO WITH THE CHEAP ONE BULB LENS SYSTEM WITH A SHUTTER ON THE LENS. HAVE COMPLAINED TO DEALER WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS A PROBLEM AND TO GM WHO REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM . GM RESPONSE TO ME WAS THE LAMPS WORK AS DESIGNED AND I RESPONDED THAT IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM, THE DESIGN WHICH PRODUCES VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. *TR

THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFETY. THEY DO NOT LIGHT THE ROAD SUFFICIENT TO SEE OBJECTS IN ROAD ABOVE A SPEED OF 50 MPH. THESE ARE SINGLE BULB PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS AND MY OLD 2001 CHEVY SILVERADO HAS MUCH BETTER LIGHTS. GMC SHOULD REPLACE THE LIGHTS WITH DUAL BEAM LIGHTS OR ADD ON A SUPPLEMENTAL LIGHT SYSTEM. *TR

NO ACCIDENT. (YET) HEAD LIGHTS ARE PATHETIC. RANGE OF VISION AT NIGHT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THERE IS NO DIFFUSION OF LIGHT. ONLY LIGHT IS ON A STRAIGHT HORIZONTAL LINE. CAUSES A VERY TENSE DRIVING SITUATION ON ANY DARK ROAD. THE LIGHTING ON THE PERIPHERY IS VIRTUALLY NON-EXISTENT BUT MARGINALLY IMPROVED IF FOG LIGHTS ARE LEFT ON ALL THE TIME. MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN FILED. CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY GMC HAS NOT BEEN COMPELLED TO HAVE A RECALL TO COME UP WITH A REAL SOLUTION. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A QUESTION OF ADJUSTING THE CURRENT LIGHTING ARRANGEMENT. THIS SHOULD BE A PRIORITY RECALL. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. *TR

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD, Chevrolet Express, and GMC Sierra HD vehicles, and model year 2013 GMC Savana compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles that fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 303 "Fuel System Integrity of Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles." In the affected vehicles, the text of the CNG fuel-only label is smaller than the required size, and as a result, may be less noticeable.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Text that does not conform to the required labeling size could inhibit fuel tank inspection practices and safe refueling, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: GM will notify owners and will send them a replacement label, free of charge. The recall began December 3, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 13365.
Oct 9, 2015
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks manufactured January 24, 2014, to February 26, 2014, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban vehicles manufactured February 12, 2014 and Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles manufactured February 6, 2014, to February 13, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If stuck in the "Start" position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the "Accessory" position, causing a loss of engine, steering, and braking power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. If the vehicle is in a crash, the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on November 20, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15573.

In the affected vehicles, the chassis electronic module may be internally contaminated, resulting in an electrical short.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the module experiences an electrical short, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the chassis electronic module, free of charge. The recall began on December 26, 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GMs number for this recall is 14515.

Due to an incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly, the front seats in the affected vehicles may not stay secured in place during a high load condition such as a crash.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A seat that does not stay secured increases the risk of occupant injury in a vehicle crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat hook bracket assembly weld and replace the lower seat track, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14340.
Jun 27, 2014
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles, and model year 2015 GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, an electrical signal short may cause the transfer case to shift to neutral without the driver's input.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is parked and the parking brake is not in use, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of injury to bystanders. If the transfer case switches to neutral while the vehicle is being driven, the vehicle would lose drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will re-program the software in the transfer case control module, free of charge. The recall began in early August 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14192.

The affected vehicles built with the vinyl flooring option do not have the retention features necessary to properly secure the floor mat on the driver's side.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The floor mat could shift such that it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing its return to an idle position, which could result in unintended vehicle speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and reimburse the owner for the purchase price upon their return. The owners will also be provided an insert for their owners manual instructing them not to use floor mats, free of charge. The recall began on August 18, 2014. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, and 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban vehicles equipped with a base radio and an internal amplifier. The radios in the affected vehicles may become inoperative, and as a result, there would be no audible chime to notify the driver if the door is opened with the key in the ignition or no audible seat belt warning indicating the seat belts were not buckled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention," and 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Without an audible indicator, the driver may not be aware that the driver's door is open while the key is in the ignition, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway. Additionally, there would be no reminder that the driver's or front seat passenger's seat belt is not buckled, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began on July 2, 2014. Chevrolet owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GMC owners may contact GM's customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14315.
