I am adding additional pdf.s to this original safety On page 4 of 8, the attachment MIP from Genesis on HHI does not provide a reason for this concern: High Pressure Fuel Pump With Seal Cam Lobe Bucket HPFP Bolts Fuel Rail Pipe Intake Manifold Gasket Throttle Body Gasket Item Description: Speak with your service advisor for more information on this recommended service. Reason: Left blank Service Advisors' texts attached: 1, 2, and 3 from [XXX] of Genesis/[XXX] of HHI: The dealership’s verbal assessment was that the fuel pump area bolts sheared off due to "outside work" or "over-tightening, I asked for photos to provide visual, metallurgical proof of tool marks or cross-threading to back up that claim, and [XXX] verbally stated they had submitted those to Genesis. I never received the photos. The last attachment (Diagnostic Check). **RESPONSE to dealerships' speculation: ** Under Federal Recall 033G (NHTSA Campaign 26V229000), which directly involves the failure of fuel system retention fasteners, the Insufficient torque on the stabilizer bolts is prone to a bolt backing out even a fraction of an inch; the fuel assembly begins to vibrate violently against it. This creates immense lateral (sideways) fatigue stress on the bolt threads. Eventually, under that continuous vibration and stress, the metal fatigues and shears (snaps) completely off. [XXX] - GMA Case Management - [XXX] assigned me Case #XXX. Provide all requests for completion and docs. An inspection is to take place. The vehicle has experienced a pattern of recurring electrical failures beginning shortly after purchase, involving driver door controls (window, lock, mirror, and interior lighting functions), which have required four separate repair attempts over approximately three years, including replacement of a door module, a wiring harness, and a door switch assembly. Despite these repairs, the same driver door electrical failure has recurred multiple times. The vehicle has also experienced a seat memory module failure (module was replaced), and a persistent rear hatch malfunction that has never been resolved. The most serious concern is that the vehicle has, on multiple occasions, unexpectedly shut down while being driven, including instrument cluster and infotainment screens going dark, occurring when the automatic engine stop/start feature engages at intersections. The vehicle has restarted on its own after acceleration in some instances. Power steering assist has also been affected during at least one of these events. Most recently, the vehicle failed to start at all on one occasion, requiring roadside assistance to jump the battery; the dealer diagnosed unstable battery voltage but did not identify a root cause connecting this event to the prior shutdown incidents. This creates a significant safety risk due to potential loss of vehicle control or loss of power while operating in traffic. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer on multiple occasions (door module and wiring harness failures were diagnosed and repaired), though the shutdown-while-driving events specifically have not been duplicated by the dealer despite multi-day testing. The vehicle has been inspected exclusively by the authorized dealer; it has not been inspected by police or independent parties. Warning symptoms (flickering door lights, dead door controls) preceded the shutdown/stall issue by roughly a year before the stalling symptom began.

We (wife and I) are the owner of a 2022 Genesis GV70. The vehicle has had multiple dangerous incidents affecting steering and driver control. Most recent event (dated 9/11/25): While driving at ~30 mph on city streets, an alarm sounded, the steering suddenly became very stiff, and the word “Emergency” appeared on the dashboard. This condition lasted briefly but made steering extremely difficult. Prior events (approx. six over the past two years): While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle has suddenly begun to swerve side to side with an alarm sounding — even though the lane assist feature was turned off. These incidents occur randomly, without warning, and cannot be reproduced on demand. Each time, she had to fight the steering to maintain control. Dealer inspection: The vehicle was taken to the Genesis dealership after earlier incidents. They found no diagnostic codes and offered no explanation or repair. Safety Concern: This vehicle appears to have a serious safety defect affecting steering control and stability. The unpredictable loss of normal steering or sudden emergency intervention poses a high risk of an accident. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue to determine whether it is part of a wider defect requiring recall or corrective action.

The issue started 1/24/2022 9:30pm when the car steering wheel buttons features where off and 2 warning lights on. All self driving mode assistance where off. I took the car to Nashua Hyundai 140 Daniel Webster Hwy, Nashua, NH 03060 tel 603- 888- 8080, i believe was the week of the 31, and they ordered the 3 parts. They told me it was safe to drive the car. During Saturday 1/21 I drove to NYC to meet my cousins for my uncle funeral. I noticed that the car was slightly accelerating itself without no warning. On 1/22 Sunday returning home from NYC, I notice that I had to put the brakes more frequenty. On 1/27/2023, the 3 electric parts were installed and when leaving the dealer the car was not responding to the acceleration (it won run) and abruptly accelerated. Then at the highway US 3 South it started to reduce speed by itself (55/65 zone). Almost 2 car collide with me at the rear at they had to reduce speed abruptly. I returned to the dealer with the warning lights on. The technician plug the computer deffects detector and the system could not detect the error. The warning signs where off. He drove the car and there found the traction control coming on and off causing the car to accelerate and reduced speed by itself. I thought I was not going to make it as they were a lot of trucks near me when I was trying to drive and return to the dealer. I sworn to protect the public health since 2015, I am fulfilling that duty with this report to avoid preventable accident or death. I believe this car advance AI/ML system are blocking access to detection system to detect errors. Which could endanger findings of significant errors that can cause injuries or death while driving. All repairs documented are at the dealer and inside the car. The car still at the dealer as of today if you need to conduct an inspection 1/30,/2023. Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten, or replace the fuel pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 20, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Genesis' number for this recall is 033G. Consequence: An exploding seat belt pretensioner can project metal fragments into the vehicle, strike vehicle occupants, and result in injury.

Remedy: Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. For GV60 owners, Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 14, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 012G. This recall supersedes and expands recall number 21V-796. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 21V-796 will need to have the new remedy completed.

On August 8, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Recall Query (RQ) based on 3 incidents alleging front seat belt pretensioners that may rupture during deployment, on model year (MY) 2020-2022 of various Hyundai and Kia Models, resulting in 3 injuries (note: one incident occurred outside the U.S. and its territories).Between October 2021 and March 2023, Hyundai and Kia have filed the following 11 safety recalls for pretensioner rupture: NHTSA Recall No. 21V-796, 22V-069, 22V-123, 22V-127, 22V-218, 22V-354, 22V-447, 22V-458, 22V-816, 23V-094, and 23V-210.Hyundai/Kia have stated that the abnormal deployment of the pretensioners is due to over-pressurization of the pretensioner pipe that can cause metal fragments to enter the vehicle occupant compartment, which can result in injury to vehicle occupants.The various makes/models covered by the above recalls include approximately 405,900 certain 2020-2022 Hyundai Accent, 2021-2022 Hyundai Elantra and Elantra HEV, 2021-2022 Hyundai Santa Fe HEV, 2022-2023 Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV, 2020-2022 Hyundai Venue, 2021-2023 Genesis G80, 2023 Genesis G80 EV, 2023 Genesis G90, 2023 Genesis GV60 EV, 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, 2021-2023 Genesis GV80, 2021-2022 Kia Sorento HEV, and 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV.In response to ODI's investigation, in December 2022, Hyundai notified ODI that they would be conducting testing to validate subject vehicle seat belt pretensioners. ODI met with representatives from Hyundai on several occasions during the investigation to discuss testing progress and data. As a result of the testing, Hyundai was able to simulate the pretensioner failures. It was determined by Hyundai during testing, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioners may explode upon deployment in the event of a crash which can cause metal fragments to enter the vehicle occupant compartment.Hyundai thus notified ODI of their decision to proceed with a safety recall, to expand the scope of the previous safety actions.In view of the recall actions taken by Hyundai and Kia, ODI concerns have been addressed. The agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
