2011 FORD FOUR WINDS WINDSPORT MOTORHOME. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE LEFT FRONT LEAF SPRING FAILED AT THE AXLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEFECTIVE LEAF SPRING WAS DISCOVERED, WHEN HE TOOK THE MOTORHOME TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR AN ALIGNMENT, BECAUSE THE FRONT TIRES WERE BADLY WORN AND CUPPED. FORD INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE MOTORHOME WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AND AFTER CONSIDERABLE HASSLE AND GIVEN THE RUN-AROUND, FORD HAD THE MOTORHOME TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY TWO MECHANICS AT TWO INDEPENDENT TRUCK REPAIR SHOPS, THAT FORD SHOULD NOT ONLY COVER THE COST OF REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE SPRING AND DAMAGED TO THE TIRES, BUT THEY SHOULD ALSO REPLACE THE OTHER FRONT SPRING. THEY STATED FORD SHOULD REPLACE BOTH SPRINGS TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR SAFETY REASONS, PROPER ALIGNMENT AND TIRE WEAR. TO DATE, FOR HAS NOT CONSIDERED THE CONSUMERS REQUEST FOR WARRANTY REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE DEFECTIVE SPRING AND DAMAGE TO THE TIRES. FORD STATED THE LEAF SPRING WAS SUBJECTED TO EXTERNAL DAMAGE AND THEREFORE, WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.
