The back up camera image flipped upside down about five years ago. it will occasionally flip right side up for short while, but then flips back. I recently found online that I'm not alone, and that this seems to be a common problem among Ford Edge owners. Also, I see where there was a recall of 2020 and 2021 Ford Edges with similar back up camera issues. It seems that the problem existed prior to those years already. Is there any chance that the this problem be acknowledged by Ford to me, an earlier and current owner ?
experienced a hard brake pedal, making it difficult to stop safely, sometimes the vehicle experienced an loss of brake pressure. I also heard a strange noise while pressing the brake pedal, like a “wind blowing” noise.
Multiple car alarms showed up. Turns out the ABS module is bad. Looked at the Ford page and the same issue is already in recall on 2011-2013 years. This vehicle is a 2014 and has the same problem and should be included in the recall.

The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Magic City Ford Lincoln (809 Williamson Rd. NE, Roanoke, VA 24016 – (540)345-0911), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, opened a case, and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Faulty Water Pump causing thousands of dollars to repair. There is a recall on same models and year my vehicle should also be on it. Stalled on hiway. Had to pay more money for tow. Repairs are more than car is worth. You have to take the top part of engine off to replace it.
In 2020, I paid a local Ford Dealership to replace my back up camera on my 2014 Ford Edge SEL. The camera had failed and gave the " camera not available" to driver. Worked until July of 2024. In 2020, I paid a local Ford Dealership to replace my back up camera on my 2014 Ford Edge SEL. The camera had failed and gave the " camera not available" to driver. Worked until July of 2024. In July, the new camera failed. The camera "inverted" the image the driver sees. This makes it impossible to use the camera safely for backing up or hazard during back up. I feel this is a critical safety issue, causing disorientation of the driver while backing up. A call to the Ford dealer got the reply " Your vehicle is not covered under any Ford recall to date. The back-up camera has failed, and we can replace it at your cost"

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles manufactured September 2, 2010, to November 30, 2013; 2013-2014 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured August 25, 2011, to November 30, 2013; and 2013-2014 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured September 12, 2011, to November 30, 2013. 1PE15020 · Wheel Separation
Opened May 20, 2015 · Closed Jan 4, 2016
Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Wheels:rim
On November 29, 2014, ODI received a complaint reporting the complete separation of an original equipment 22-inch alloy wheel rim mounted on the right front position of a model year 2014 Ford Edge vehicle (VOQ 10661278).The driver indicated that the right-front corner of the vehicle suddenly dropped while driving, causing the vehicle to go off the road to the right and into a field. The right-front wheel rim was found to have broken into two pieces. The owner said that there was no prior warning or wheel related problems with the vehicle. The vehicle had been driven approximately 8,500 miles at the time of the incident. On May 29, 2015 ODI sent an information request to Ford asking for detailed information related to the specific 22 inch alloy wheel used on the Edge as well as any peer vehicles which used the same type of wheel. On July 17, 2015 Ford provided ODI with the requested information. Ford's search showed that the single incident reported to ODI is the only instance of a wheel failure on the subject or peer vehicles. The failed wheel was sent to the National Transportation Service Board (NTSB) materials analysis laboratory for examination. The NTSB determined that the wheel failed because of a severe impact that caused a crack that rapidly propagated around the circumference of the wheel, The rim fracture surface had a predominantly rough appearance consistent with an overstress fracture (rapid fracture)There were no abnormalities or unique features associated with the fracture initiation site.Metallurgical analysis of the rim found that the material was within specification and no anomalies were identified that could have contributed to the failure.See the full NTSB report for more details.Based on the absence of additional failures and the results of the wheel material testing and failure analysis, this investigation is closed. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The Agency will continue to monitor complaints and other information relating to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles and take further action in the future if warranted. The following VOQ is associated with this investigation: 10661278
