My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I’ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.

MY 2010 EDGE IS DEALING WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT, A WRENCH, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALL COMING ON AND OFF WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE (IN PARK OR IN ANY DRIVING CONDITION). WHEN THESE LIGHTS COME ON I PRETTY MUCH LOSE THE ABILITY TO BREAK ON MY OWN, IT RESISTS AND GRINDS WHEN BREAKING WITH THE LIGHTS ON. THE LIGHTS CAN COME AND GO FOR DAYS AT A TIME OR FOR ONLY A FEW MILES. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HESITATES ON TAKE OFF WHEN THESE LIGHTS ARE ON. CODE READER DOESN'T REALLY TELL US ANYTHING USEFUL. IF CODES ARE CLEARED IT EVENTUALLY WILL COME BACK ON AND CONTINUE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BY WHAT I'M FINDING, FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THIS WIRING/ELECTRICAL ISSUE. ANOTHER THING, THE SEATBELT LIGHT AND ALARM WILL NOT STOP GOING OFF, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN PARK FOR A WHILE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND I AM FAR FROM IMPRESSED.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUALLY WENT ON AND OFF WHILE IN MOTION WHETHER ON A HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET. NOTICED IT ALSO WENT ON DURING LEFT TURNS. DOOR LOCKS ON ALL DOORS WOULD CLICK ON AND OFF AT STOPS. I WASN'T SURE THAT DOORS WERE LOCKED WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. INTERNAL LIGHTS WOULD ALSO GO ON AN OFF. COMMON ISSUE ON THE INTERNET WITH FORD EDGES. IT'S ALL OVER AND FOR YEARS. I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND HAD TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED AT A COST OF $542.83. I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO PAY FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE PART NUMBER TO REPLACE WAS THE LATCH PART NUMBER 8T4Z 78264A27 A. SO A NEW DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED ALONG WITH THE REPAIR OF A WIRE IN THE DOOR HARNESS NEAR THE LH SIDE OF THE DOOR SPEAKER. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE.

REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP AND SOCKET MELTED AND BURNT. HAPPENED TO RIGHT SIDE THEN SOON AFTER LEFT SIDE. REPLACEMENT IS SHOWING SIGNS OF MELTING ALREADY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHERE A FIRE COULD HAPPEN. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON AUTO FORUMS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER MODELS AND YEAR.
