THERE APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP THAT HAS CAUSED THE FOLLOWING STRUCTURAL/SYSTEM FAILURES FROM NORMAL OPERATION: 1) PASSENGER SIDE COCKPIT FLOORING HAS SEPARATED FROM THE COACH FRAME STARTING FROM THE FRONT OF THE COACH AND CONTINUING ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE COCKPIT AND POSSIBLY BEYOND TO UNDER THE DINETTE SEATING AREA. THE SEPARATION IS VISIBLE FROM UNDERNEATH THE MOTOR HOME AS WELL AS FROM THE COCKPIT PASSENGER SEATING AREA WHERE THE ROAD IS VISIBLE WHILE DRIVING. 2) THE DASHBOARD HAS DETACHED FROM THE FRAME. THE DASHBOARD FLOATS' UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING, PRESUMABLY AS A RESULT OF THE FLOOR SEPARATION ISSUE NOTED ABOVE. THE MOVEMENT OF THE DASHBOARD IS PREDOMINATELY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT IS ALSO EVIDENT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. 3) THE PASSENGER SIDE MAGAZINE RACK/SHELF/CUP HOLDER UNIT HAS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE WALL OF THE COACH, PRESUMABLY AS A RESULT OF THE FLOOR SEPARATION ISSUE NOTED ABOVE. 4) THE CABINET UNIT ABOVE THE DINETTE SEATING AREAS OF THE COACH IS SEPARATING FROM THE WALL/FRAME OF THE COACH. 5) THE DASHBOARD SAFETY VIDEO CAMERA IMAGE DURING TURN, BACK-UP OR STATIC OPERATION DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. THE PICTURE CONTINUALLY ROLLS, DIMS IN CONTRAST AND/OR TURNS OFF FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. 6) THE KITCHEN COUNTER TOP TO THE RIGHT OF THE SINK HAS SEPARATELY FROM THE WALL AND FROM THE BACK-SPLASH ABOVE THE COUNTER. Fleetwood RV is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 Encounter vehicles manufactured from November 19, 2009, through May 13, 2010; 2011-2013 Storm vehicles manufactured from May 21, 2010, through September 18, 2012; and 2012 Terra vehicles manufactured from April 26, 2011, through March 13, 2012. The entry step to the motorhome lacks sufficient support and may become damaged by repeated use.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: The step may collapse during use potentially causing personal injury.

Remedy: Fleetwood RV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, reinforce the step structural support. The safety recall began during December 2012. Owners may contact Fleetwood RV Owner Relations at 1-800-509-3418.
