26V098000 · Seats; Structure: Underride

Feb 20, 2026

Braun Industries, Inc. (Braun Ambulances) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Demers FXP174 ambulances. The floor may have insufficient strength to secure the seats in position during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Structural failure may prevent the seat from properly restraining an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. All affected vehicles were repaired by June 22, 2026. Owners may contact Braun Ambulances' customer service at 1-800-363-7591. Braun Ambulances number for this recall is 2026-1.
