I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, I KNOW SIX TIMES BEFORE MY FACTORY WARRANTY RAN OUT, AND THEY COULD NEVER FIX IT. TOOK IT TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME MY WARRANTY IS OUT, AND NOW I HAVE TO START DOING RANDOM WORK TO IT TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG. TAKATA RECALL. AFTER I REACHED 64,000 MILES MAY VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING TO WORK. IT TOOK AT LEAST 5 TIMES FOR THE MOTOR TO TURN OVER. AS SOON AS POWER WAS RESTORED BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. NOW THE BATTERY LIGHT IS OFF BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY. I'VE HAD MY BATTERY TESTED AND THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. THERE NOW S A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT IS WRONG. I HAVE TRIED TO DRIVE MY CAR SINCE AND IT CONTINUES TO TURN OFF. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, I WAS AT STOP LIGHT MY CAR STALLED, I PUT IN PARK IT RESTARTED. I COULDN'T PUT ON MY HAZARDS OR ANYTHING TO WARN THE CAR BEHIND . IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THIS SATURDAY ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE FAST LANE THE DASHBOARD WAS BLANK, THE RADIO STOPPED PLAYING, SO MERGED IN THE SLOW LANE WITHOUT USING THE BRAKE THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON THE SPEED GAUGE WAS TRYING TO GET MY CURRENT SPEED. I'VE BEEN INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OVER 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUES. THIS CAR IS SO UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. MY CAR CREATES A VERY HARD JERKING WHEN SWITCHING GEARS OR SPEEDING UP. IT ALSO SHAKES WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ON AND I AM ONLY GETTING ABOUT 15 MI TO THE GALLON WHEN IT SHOULD BE 27. I'VE LEFT MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE, WORKED WITH THE DEVICE DEPARTMENT, WORKED WITH CHRYSLER AND THE SITUATION AND SAFETY CONCERN IS STILL NOT RECTIFIED. TAKATA RECALL, MY VEHICAL WAS COMPLETELY STILL, OUTSIDE OF MY FAMILY HOME GETTING INTO THE CAR WITH MY 1YO. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY KEY FOB BEFORE SO I DIDNT THINK ANYTHING OF IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAITED APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, A CHIME SOUNDED AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED DAILY FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BURNS MOTORS (1300 US-83 BUS, MCALLEN, TX 78501) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 6/19/17 AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER A FEW RIDES I FAULT WITH THE DEALER ABOUT MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY AIRBAG WIRING HARNESS AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED UNDER BOTH SEATS BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE IS NO WAY I WAS PAYING FOR THIS WHEN THE CAR WAS PRACTICALLY NEW ONLY APPROXIMATELY 42502 MILES AND I WAS HAVING ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON. WELL NOW I AM REALLY FEELING LIKE THIS RECALL IS LARGER THAN IT IS PRESENTED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WHEN I GET THINGS DONE TO MY VEHICLE. SUCH AS MY TRANSMISSION NEEDING SERVICE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT, THE ABS, THE TRACTION, AND ELECTRONIC PARK BRAKE FAILURE. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.
