The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rear-view camera displayed a blank image. The contact discovered through the insurance company that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V539000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact made several attempts to speak with the manufacturer but was forced to leave voice messages each time. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 9,700.

26V539000 · Back Over Prevention: Sensing System: Camera

Aug 20, 2026

General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2024-2025 Buick Envista, 2024-2026 Buick Encore GX, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and 2025 Chevrolet Trax vehicles. The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is A262554900. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.
