The Power Steering keeps failing and this is dangerous once the vehicle is in motion. We have taken the truck to Lawley Chevrolet Sierra Vista AZ (Mando Flores-Service Advisor)several times within the last year and they claim they can't find anything wrong. We can't drive it until the steering is properly fixed. It's impossible to drive. We have to constantly pull over and turn off vehicle for the electrical system to reset . Then we drive for about 1/8 miles then the issue starts all over again. Once the power steer light comes on to include the stabilitrak warning lights then the vehicle is almost impossible to steer. My wife drives the truck most of the time and it's very dangerous and it's not easy for her to steer this vehicle once the power steering goes out. I'm disabled and not able to drive the vehicle in case the power steering goes out. Please thoroughly investigate this vulnerability & issue a recall to fix this issue.

The body is defective in keeping water out of the cab. Water intrusion into cab causing moisture build-up and damaging interior and electrical components. My safety is at risk due to the electrical components in the cab that run the vehicle could cause electrocution or cause the vehicle to fail while in use. No they have not reproduced the problem. Yes, GM Collision center and service center (three separate times) have seen the vehicle and the video of the leak. I informed them of the TSB5396 of the known manufacturer defect issue. No warning, problem was first noticed in May 2023. I found my interior completely soaked one morning. I have waterproof marathon seat covers and they are soaked thru to the seats. Checked all windows to make sure they were up and the door seals were shut, everything was closed. Assumed that it was a fluke, followed up by checking the next morning and found the headliner dripping along with a soaked interior again. With the electrical seats and all the electronics in the dash I am concerned about that much water and moisture being in the cab might electrocute me or cause malfunction while driving. Besides the fact that moisture causes rust, mold and mildew that are dangerous to your health to breathe in.

After several times of starting the truck and moving the shifter back and forth then turning the truck off the key releases. Went on car gurus.com chat line and found this problem is widespread. Chevrolet dealerships will not honor the warranty on this issue if the vehicle is passed it’s warranty. Looks like someone is going have to get injured or trapped in the vehicle for Chevy to acknowledge this safety issue. Thank you for your consideration.

My steering lost power assist. Very hard to turn the steering wheel. I could not park my Colorado. I could only turn at higher speeds. I could drive fairly straight, but could not make any quick maneuvers. I would not have been able to avoid anything. The dealer said it would cost $2600 to fix it. Also the stabletrack icon came…

I could drive fairly straight, but could not make any quick maneuvers. I would not have been able to avoid anything. The dealer said it would cost $2600 to fix it. Also the stabletrack icon came on. I felt very unsafe driving my Colorado. When I asked the service person what I should do because I couldn’t afford to fix it, he said “ park it and don’t drive it”. He was very rude. He wasn’t happy that I wouldn’t pay him $4250 for my steering issue and the display screen.

Yes available for inspection. unable to remove the key means the vehicle can not be locked. no the vehicle has not been inspected., no warning lights were activated and no signs of an upcoming problem. It started about a month ago (once) and now it is occurring every time. I have looked on Youtube and there are multiple videos of people with this problem and there thoughts on a "work around". They describe it as something to do with a pin in the ignition switch what fails to move when the vehicle is put in PARK. One guy drilled a hole in the cover so he can insert a bolt into the housing in order to "hit" that pin, no one should have to do that.

My power steering goes out intermittently. I get a power steering drive with care and stabilitrak service on my dash. It’ll go back to normal when I shut off the truck and restart. But sometimes the service error doesn’t go away. Also, while power steering is out service rear camera comes in intermittently too.
