Very disorienting as with the one pedal driving mode I was expecting the car to slow and kept moving faster than expected. Luckily nothing happened as I jammed on my breaks. I was reversing towards a hill in my yard that leads to some woods Brought the car to the dealership, and they said the transmission control module failed after 3 years 9 months in service and ~48000 miles. Paid $2000 as it was not covered under warranty

The principal defect involves the rear-view backup camera, which has repeatedly failed despite multiple repair attempts and three new cameras. I bought a used EUV on 12/14/24 with around 25000 miles and on 6/6/25 at 31730 miles it went in for the first attempt to fix the camera. In addition, other safety-related systems have also failed or have become unreliable, including the automatic windshield wipers, the lane-keeping/lane departure warning system, and the gap adjust function. Moreover, there is no warning chime if the seatbelts are not fastened. The sunroof was made to work on the second repair attempt; not a safety issue, but indicative of the systemic failures of the car. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership on multiple occasions for repair attempts, once from 3/7-5/29/26. Despite their best efforts, the problems have not been fixed by the service department. The safety features do not function consistently to this day and the dealership shop has given up on me, despite the car being under warranty, recommending I seek out a lemon lawyer. GM is offering the boilerplate $300/2000 split. This solves nothing. GM’s proposal would require me either to continue driving a vehicle whose safety systems I cannot rely upon, or to absorb a substantial financial loss because of defects that were not of my making. I would have no choice but to hang onto a vehicle that I do not feel safely confident driving and that cannot be traded without suffering a significant financial loss. My goal is to own a safe, reliable vehicle that performs with safety features as represented when I purchased it. On 7/25, camera out as usual, I backed into a fire hydrant positioned very low into the ground, which I could not see when I turned my head. My first accident in 55 years of driving. I can send numerous videos showing the safety measures working and then not working in the same few minutes, along with the documentation of attempted repairs.

The front facing camera and the rear backup camera and the entire camera system is intermittent. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. You become a bit dependent on the backup camera and when it does not work & it causes undue stress especially if you are handicapped in the neck turning area. The problem has not been taken to a dealer yet because they cost is prohibitive to just drive it in the door. When the failure occurs, there is a red triangle and a camera with a red circle with a red line through it. This is a documented problem (TSB 23-NA-062) with this model vehicle and should be made a recall. Many others have reported this same issue. Chevrolet will not fix it without cost of up to $1500 or more if the car is out of the 36K warranty

There's a very common issue with these vehicles where the steering rack breaks and causes a number of issues including a clunking noise when driving over bumps and a rattle in steering wheel when turning left and right. However the most important and dangerous issue is that the steering wheel stops returning to center after making a turn. The steering wheel will move about 1/2 of the way back to center and then just stop and I have to manually turn it the rest of the way. You can imagine how dangerous this could be if someone doesn't realize what's happening and the car continues turning and goes into oncoming traffic. I have to manually turn the steering wheel back to center to avoid the car veering into the oncoming lane of traffic after making a turn. GM can fix it by replacing the rack, but it's a $4k repair and will happen again after replacing it.

The contact stated that the seat belt warning chime failed to function when the seat belt was not fastened. Additionally, the instrument panel became inoperable while attempting to reverse, and the rearview camera failed to function properly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the radio system and instrument panel screen had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, while driving home from routine shopping errands, I suddenly heard a loud “pop” from above the vehicle. Importantly, there was no collision, no debris, no road hazard, and no indication that anything had struck the vehicle. I was not involved in any incident that could have caused external damage. When I pulled into my garage and inspected the vehicle, I immediately noticed severe damage to the sunroof: Multiple large cracks radiating across the glass Shattered and fractured areas near the center A small hole in the glass with loose shards visibly protruding outward, suggesting that the force originated from inside the panel Loose glass pieces resting above the interior fabric sunroof shade, which fortunately prevented debris from falling into the cabin The outward-facing damage pattern is critical: it clearly indicates the sunroof did not break due to an object hitting it from the outside, but rather due to internal pressure, stress, or a structural failure in the glass—likely a manufacturing defect or flaw in materials. I documented the damage with both photos and video from above the sunroof, capturing the direction of the glass break and the area affected. This was an unprovoked, spontaneous failure under normal driving conditions and poses a serious safety concern. Given these facts—lack of impact, direction of the force, supporting evidence, and the coverage of my extended warranty—this should reasonably be considered a warranty-covered issue due to product defect or failure. I brought my vehicle to my nearest Chevrolet dealership on Saturday 8/1 for their inspection. No action on their part was taken. Follow-up with the service manager confirmed they would not fix / non warranty issue. Driving home from the service appointment, shards of glass broke loose from the sunroof. This created an immediate and serious driving hazard—not only to me and my passengers, but to other drivers and potentially even pedestrians.

NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.
