SINCE OPENING THIS INVESTIGATION, ODI HAS GATHERED INFORMATION FROM THE APRILIA IMPORTER (PIAGGIO GROUP AMERICAS, INC), APRILIA DEALERS AND MOTORCYCLE OWNERS, AND VARIOUS WEB FORUMS.BASED ON THAT EFFORT WE BELIEVE THE ONLY MOTORSCOOTERS THAT EXPERIENCED A THROTTLE SLIDE FRACTURE WERE THE MY2001 SCARABEO 150 MODELS.HOWEVER, AT THIS TIME ODI IS NOT AWARE OF COMPLAINTS ESTABLISHING THAT A DEFECT TREND CURRENTLY EXISTS WITH THE CARBURETOR SLIDE ON THOSE MODELS.THEREFORE, THIS INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED. ODI WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS MATTER AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION IF WARRANTED BY FUTURE CIRCUMSTANCES.THE CLOSING OF THIS INVESTIGATION DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A FINDING BY NHTSA THAT NO SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT EXISTS.
