THE FRONT AND REAR MOUNTING BRACKETS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE FUEL TANK LEAKED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENTS THE LINING IN THE FUEL TANK FAILED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SENT BACK IN THE DEALER REPLACED THE LINING AND THE REAR BRACKET. AFTER THE PARTS WERE REPLACED THE FUEL TANK WAS MOUNTED TO HIGH. NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE MADE.

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL BRAKE ROTOR-CARRIERS,THE ROTOR-CARRIERS CAN CRACK WHILE IN SERVICE AND POSSIBLY BREAK.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THIS CAN CAUSE A PARTIAL LOSS OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM OR THE POTENTIAL FOR ROTOR-CARRIER DETACHMENT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ROTOR-CARRIER ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JANUARY 26, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT AMERICAN IRONHORSE AT 1-817-665-2045.

CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES MAY HAVE DEFECTIVE FRONT GAS TANK MOUNT BRACKETS, WHICH COULD BREAK IN SERVICE AND BREACH THE TANK WALL POSSIBLY CAUSING FUEL SPILLAGE.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE TANK BY REPLACING THE EXISTING FRONT BRACKETS. ANY PAINT AFFECTED BY THE WELDING PROCESS WILL BE REFINISHED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT AMERICAN IRONHORSE AT 1-817-665-2000.
