While parking our Volvo in the parking lot of Trader Joe's grocery store on [XXX], the Volvo suddenly accelerated and collided with the adjacent car in the next parking slip and rammed the car in the forward parking slip pushing about 15 to 20 feet ahead. Luckily, nobody was hurt though it could have been a disaster is someone was standing there near either of the other two cars. No one other than the auto body shop has inspected the car. The police came but did not write up a report because it was on private property and there were no injuries. Nothing on the instrument panel then or now shows any indication of a malfunction. In the four months that I have owned this car, the following issues have occurred and have not been resolved: - Google Maps suddenly stopped working while navigating while I was driving on multiple occasions. - Bluetooth connectivity will disconnect suddenly and not reconnect - All audio in the car has stopped since 7/2/26. This includes turn signals, safety alerts, cross traffic alert. This has happened on at least 4 separate occasions (lasting 2 days or more) and usually resolves, but this has persisted. I have called the service department each time and been told there is nothing they can do about it and that I have to wait for a software update. I updated the software on 6/15/26 and the problem seems to have gotten worse. - Backup camera intermittently does not work and screen is black - Radio will freeze on station. Audio will change but screen will not. - Climate control does not work on auto. Fan will not adjust based on temperature, has to be adjusted manually even in auto mode. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my children when driving in this vehicle. The electrical system has proven to be unpredictable, and my research has shown that this is not an isolated issue. The vehicle has been at a Volvo service center 3 times for this same issue and continues to have the same unresolved problems. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the system malfunctioning, it happens while I am driving. This poses a hazard to me and to the people driving around me.

I own a 2025 Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The vehicle has recurring software defects that create a serious safety risk. First, the infotainment and central control system repeatedly reboots while I am driving. On a single trip from Washington, DC to Burlington, Vermont, the system rebooted approximately 8 to 10 times. It has also rebooted within minutes of starting the vehicle during local driving. Each reboot blanks the center display, which disables the backup/parking camera and interrupts the speedometer and driver-information display, climate controls, and other functions. Losing these displays and controls while the vehicle is in motion is a significant safety hazard. Second, after installing a Volvo over-the-air (OTA) software update, the vehicle was rendered completely inoperable. It would not unlock or start and could not be accessed through the key fob or the Volvo Cars app, and it had to be towed to the dealer. Based on numerous owner reports, failed OTA updates that disable the vehicle this way are a known, recurring problem on these models. Third, the front and rear parking cameras have both cracked during normal use, with no impact damage, and the vehicle displays a "parking cameras need cleaning" message at nearly every stop. No crash or injury has occurred. I have reported these issues to the selling dealer and to Volvo customer care. The reboot and lockout problems are recurring and have not been durably resolved.

My infotainment system continues to fail as well as my back up camera (happened within 10 minutes of driving off of the lot when purchased) despite all of the software updates they claim will fix the problem, including the most recent March 2026. Since this update, the failures have increased in frequency to multiple times in a single ride lasting 15-20 minutes. The car has subsequently landed back at the dealership since last Thursday with no answers on how to fix the problems. I am currently in a loaner car waiting for the dealership to hear back from Volvo corporate. It's Saturday and my new car is sitting outside in the weather with no fix in sight. After paying almost $60,000 for this vehicle, I'm feeling duped and gaslit and frustrated. I've been a loyal Volvo customer for years (4th Volvo, 3rd XC 60) and not had any issues, so I'm feeling confused, disappointed, and as mentioned frustrated.

Car is 16 months old and a plug in hybrid. After replacement of the 12 volt battery, the on board charger, and the wiring harness due to complete system failure, I picked up the car from service. Within an hour of having the car back, the dashboard suddenly went blank while I was driving. There was no warning or notice. This presented a safety issue as I was using GPS and relying on directions at the time. I pulled over and turned off the car and tried to “reset” the dashboard and was unable to do so after several tries. I returned the car to the dealership where they were unable to immediately fix it.

Cameras remained unavailable for several hours, when they “magically” came back on. 6/24/25 — radio sound disappeared. Only returned after a hard reset of the center infotainment system. 6/25/25 — another warning that cameras were unavailable, but as quickly as it flashed on, it went off, and cameras were available. 6/25/25 — entire infotainment center and air handling/ac system went black while i was driving. Center re-set itself while i was driving. Warning light that cameras were unavailable also flashed on then off. 6/25/25 — Vehicle, which was only purchased on 6/18/25, was picked up by dealer for investigation. 6/26/25 — Told that problems are known by Volvo, apparently related to a software update instituted after a 3/25 recall for same problem, and that multiple vehicles are reporting same and continued issue. Software updated is “promised” but date undetermined.
