When I came to a stop, everything seemed normal, but when I went to take off again the truck just… didn’t go. I pressed the gas and it kind of sat there, like it was thinking about moving but not actually doing it. The engine stayed running, no sputtering or dying, but it wouldn’t engage. It took a solid 10–20 seconds before it finally decided to move forward, and even then it felt hesitant. The whole thing was weird and definitely not how it should behave.
The motor blew up. This is the second motor. Toyota hasn't approved a new motor even though their recall says i need one.

This happens when the engine is warm and has been running for some time. A couple of times the truck has done this and I have had to hit the gas pedal to the point of mushing it all the way to floor and the truck finally responds and then takes off out of control and fish tails. Very Scary!! Most of the time its just a lag while coming to a stop at a stop sign and then push the gas pedal and there is a throttle lag before the truck moves and then is abrupt.
The motors oil pressure is low. If something goes while I'm driving it can be dangerous to others and myself. It has not been confirmed with mine, but it has been a known issue with this year of the tundra's and has a recall for some of them but not all. The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while her partner was driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The driver was able to pull over; however, several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving at various speeds, and that recently, when the vehicle was restarted after stalling, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated during the failures. The local dealer was contacted but the contact was informed that the dealer could not diagnose the vehicle until July 2026. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

My 2022 Toyota Platinum hesitates on acceleration. This happens constantly. I pull out of my neighborhood street onto a busy street, the truck moves forward then hesitates in a busy lane, then will surge ahead. This leaves me exposed to oncoming traffic. I have just missed being hit many times. This happens at intersections, where it will hesitate and the car behind me almost hits me. Thank you.
Have severe throttle lag and/or hesitation when giving gas from a stop. It causes a unsafe condition when you give it gas to go and it hesitates so bad I have almost gotten into accidents. This has been happening since new. Currently 30k miles on the truck.
Engine hesitation from a stop. Engine takes 1-2 seconds to respond to throttle pedal input. Creates timing safety hazard when attempting to cross oncoming lane to enter roadway. Puts vehicle at risk of not clearing the oncoming lane in time to avoid collision. Intermittent and haven’t been able to reproduce with dealer.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. A software error may cause the rearview image not to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the multimedia display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB10 and 25TA10.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 23, 2026. This is a phased recall. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware.
