The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Rav4 Prime. The contact parked the vehicle and the vehicle remained at the parking lot for one week. The contact returned and started the vehicle and the instrument cluster was black. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V595000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer and was advised that the remedy was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the instrument panel failed to function as intended, and a blank screen was displayed. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. Other local dealers were contacted and confirmed that parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 15-20 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle several times. After the failure, the engine and brake warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer and was informed to hold the key fob near the ignition. The contact turned on the hazard lights and called AAA, who towed the vehicle to the local dealer. The dealer determined there was no input and the vehicle failed to communicate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

25V744000 · Back Over Prevention:display Function

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru Solterra vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. A software error may cause the rearview camera to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A rearview camera that fails to display an image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the parking assist software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 2, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB13 and 25LB06. Subaru's number for this recall is WRE25.
