ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS DON'T RESPOND TO REMOTE, OR FROM THE DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL. THE TWO REAR DOORS DO NOT ALLOW THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THESE DOORS ONLY UNLOCK BY USING THE ROCKER BUTTONS. THIS IS DANGEROUS PARTICULARLY FOR CHILDREN IN THE REAR SEATS AS THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT QUICKLY IN AN EMERGENCY. MY TOYOTA DEALER ADVISES THAT HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PROBLEM. HE OFFERED TO REPLACE THE ACTIVATORS IN EACH DOOR AT COST OF $600, BUT WOUND NOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS REPLACEMENT WOULD REMEDIATE THE LOCK PROBLEMS.

ON 2 OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED (65-70 MPH) IN TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE, MY CAR LOST POWER (IT DID NOT CUT OFF--ONLY LOST POWER). AFTER WORKING MY WAY OFF OF THE INTERSTATE HWY., I WAS ABLE TO USE A CODE READER AND FOUND THAT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P2112 HAD BEEN SET (THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM-STUCK CLOSED). AFTER ERASING THE DTC THE CAR RAN OK. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE--ONCE ON 02/16/2017 (MILEAGE 75,465) AND A SECOND TIME ON 04/10/2017 (MILEAGE 75,829). FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN TOYOTA'S SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, I CHECKED THE RESISTANCE OF THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR ON THE THROTTLE BODY AND FOUND IT WAS WELL WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS--MEASURED 4 OHMS AND SPEC IS 0.3-100 OHMS). IN MY OPINION, LOSING POWER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE IS A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION.

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS. I HAVE HAD THE FRONT TWO REPLACED. NOW THE TWO REAR DOORS ARE NOT WORKING APPROPRIATELY. WHEN I GO TO USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY THE LOCKS DO NOT RESPOND AT ALL. I HAVE TO UNLOCK THEM MANUALLY. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING WITH THIS CAR.

LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2007 CAMRY MODEL. I AM SURPRISED THAT TOYOTA IS NOT EXTENDING THE WARRANTY OFFERED TO THE HYBRID MODEL TO THE NON HYBRID ONE. THIS IS INDEED A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND SHOULD BE FIXED. OR IS IT GOING TO TAKE A FEW ACCIDENTS BEFORE TOYOTA ACCEPTS ITS FAULT. 13V442000 · Air Bags; Electrical System; Equipment:appliance:air Conditioner

Oct 17, 2013

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon HV, Venza, Camry, and Camry HV vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the air conditioning condenser unit housing. The accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy. An inadvertent airbag deployment can increase the risk of injury or the possibility of a crash. An inoperative airbag can increase the risk of injury in a severe crash. The power steering assist could also become inoperable resulting in increased steering effort and can increase the risk of a crash at low speeds.

Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will seal the air conditioning condenser unit housing and install a protective cover on the airbag control module, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

SUMMARY: TOYOTA RECOVERED SOME FAILED IGNITION CONTROL MODULES FROM THEFIELD. INVESTIGATION SHOWED THAT A SOLDER JOINT IN THE POWER TRANSISTOROF THE MODULE WAS SUBJECT TO FAILURE. BECAUSE THE PART IS AN EMISSIONRELATED COMPONENT A VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS CONDUCTED.THE PREDOMINANT MODE OF FAILURE IS AN INABILITY TO START THE ENGINE,ALTHOUGH A STALLED CONDITION CAN OCCUR WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.SINCE THE REPORTED OCCURENCE OF ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES IS SMALL, AND THEREPAIR IS BEING CONDUCTED UNDER THE EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN, THELIKLEHOOD OF FURTHER ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES IS REMOTE.===
