Two out of the three times it applied the brake, which easily could have resulted in an accident. I inspected the wiring for one of the sensors underneath the hood which appears fine. The sensors were cleaned off in all of these instances.

Intermittent EPS warning light illuminates during highway driving with steering wheel lock-up subsequently followed by a reset of certain electrically powered items associated with but not necessarily limited to the following systems: 1. Stability Control System warning indication 2. TPMS light 3. Radio power cycles 4. Check engine light. After turning the car off and then back on again these issues clear initially, but will intermittently happen at random durations of time anywhere from an additional 1 to 3 hours of driving. I've been discussing with Toyota Customer Service, who has known issues with the 2015 Toyota Camry under NHTSA Campaign ID: 15V144000, but they are trying to tell me that it only applies to V6 and Hybrid 2015 Camry's. I feel that this is also applicable to my vehicle VIN: [XXX] . I feel Toyota is refusing to acknowledge this critical safety issue affecting more 2015 Toyota Camry vehicles. I've never had an issue like this with 5 other previously owned vehicles. When asked if I could pay for the fix myself they informed me that it is not possible without a recall! My Toyota dealer is refusing to fix the issue and Toyota Customer Service hasn't responded in over 3 weeks to my inquiry. The air bags deployed. The contact stated that her daughter was occupying the rear passenger's side seat at the time the incident occurred and was assisted out of the vehicle by bystanders. The contact's daughter was then airlifted to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with facial lacerations, one punctured lung, and the other lung was not operating at full capacity. The contact's daughter remained in the ICU for four days. The contact was able to exit the vehicle. The contact sustained a broken left toe and burns on the left arm from the air bag deployment. The contact received medical assistance. A police report was filed, but the contact did not have the police report number available. The vehicle was towed and totaled. The vehicle rental company was notified of the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

Oct 17, 2013
Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon HV, Venza, Camry, and Camry HV vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the air conditioning condenser unit housing. The accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy. An inadvertent airbag deployment can increase the risk of injury or the possibility of a crash. An inoperative airbag can increase the risk of injury in a severe crash. The power steering assist could also become inoperable resulting in increased steering effort and can increase the risk of a crash at low speeds.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will seal the air conditioning condenser unit housing and install a protective cover on the airbag control module, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

SUMMARY: TOYOTA RECOVERED SOME FAILED IGNITION CONTROL MODULES FROM THEFIELD. INVESTIGATION SHOWED THAT A SOLDER JOINT IN THE POWER TRANSISTOROF THE MODULE WAS SUBJECT TO FAILURE. BECAUSE THE PART IS AN EMISSIONRELATED COMPONENT A VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS CONDUCTED.THE PREDOMINANT MODE OF FAILURE IS AN INABILITY TO START THE ENGINE,ALTHOUGH A STALLED CONDITION CAN OCCUR WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.SINCE THE REPORTED OCCURENCE OF ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES IS SMALL, AND THEREPAIR IS BEING CONDUCTED UNDER THE EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN, THELIKLEHOOD OF FURTHER ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES IS REMOTE.===
