I was driving home from the market and the truck slowed down to 16 mph. I could not go any faster. I pulled over to the middle of the street and turned the truck off for a minute. I then restarted it and attempted to drive it somewhere safe. The truck finally came to a stop right before an intersection. I had to get out because cars were coming fast. I was afraid someone was going to hit me. I called AAA right away. They told me the tow truck was on the way and that they would send the police. The police never showed up. The tow truck got there in about 15 minutes. The only information i have is the fuel system has a error code of P0087 and reads Fuelrail system pressure-too low. Check engine light is on, It did say something about the fuel system and the truck will not start. No one has looked at the truck yet. I will be calling the dealer this coming week to see about getting it checked out and having recall issues taken care of.
2019 DODGE RAM. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 21V-880. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE.
Living in warmer climate area such as Central Valley in California the A/C does not blow cold enough to cool the cabin of the truck. My other vehicles I own all blow in the low to mid 30’s. The ram can’t get below 50 degrees which is very concerning when the outside temperature is 110+.
The tailgate has issues closing and the supports meaning the wire that supports the tailgates when it is deployed one will have tension on it and the other is loose. The tale gate has opened when in use due to the latch / tail gate not closing correctly because of the out of square bed.

THE A/C IN THIS VEHICLE IS INADEQUATE AT BEST. IF THE VEHICLE IS SUN SOAKED ON A HOT DAY, THE A/C STRUGGLES TO COOL THE VEHICLE CABIN, EVEN AFTER 40+ MINUTE DRIVE. THE FAN STAYS ON HIGH AND NEVER GETS THE CABIN TO THE SET TEMPERATURE, OR EVEN CLOSE. ON THESE DAYS, I ROUTINELY SWEAT THROUGH MY SHIRT BEFORE THE CABIN GETS ANYWHERE CLOSE TO COOL, AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ON AN 80K VEHICLE. THE A/C IN THIS VEHICLE IS MUCH WORSE THAN IN THE 2016 RAM I PREVIOUSLY HAD. THIS VEHICLE HAS THE DUAL ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL AND IS GENERALLY SET TO 62 OR 64*, WHICH IS NEVER MET. THE CENTER DRIVER'S SIDE VENT TEMP SETTLES RIGHT AT 55* WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL SETTLE ON 47*. WHY IS THERE SUCH A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VENT TEMPERATURE AND WHY DOESN'T IT GET TO THE LOW 40'S LIKE EVERY OTHER MODERN VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN IN? WITH THE POOR COOLING, THE FAN CONSTANTLY RUNS AT HIGH SPEEDS IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP UP WITH THE COOLING REQUIREMENT, AND IN RETURN CAUSES EXCESS DRIVER FATIGUE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE IS RUN FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE CABIN COOL, CONTRIBUTING TO POORER FUEL ECONOMY, MORE WEAR AND TEAR, AND INCREASED EMISSIONS. NONE OF THESE ARE GOOD. I ROUTINELY GO OUT OF MY WAY WHEN NEEDING TO TRANSPORT YOUNG KIDS THAT ARE STILL IN CAR SEATS. OUR TAILGATE HAS OPENED ON ITS OWN 4 TIMES WHILE WE WERE DRIVING SINCE WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO HAS SHOWN A NOTIFICATION ON THE DASH THAT THE TAILGATE IS OPEN, BUT WHEN CHECKED IT IS CLOSED. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THIS, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN UPLOAD IT. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN LATE 2019 AND THE FIRST EVENT WAS IN MARCH 2020, AND IT CAUSED SCRATCHES ON THE PLASTIC TOP PART OF THE TAILGATE, AS IT HIT THE TONGUE JACK OF OUR CAMPER. THE FIRST TIME, WE THOUGHT MAYBE WE HADN'T CLOSED IT HARD ENOUGH, SO WE HAVE ALWAYS MADE A POINT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SHUT TIGHT. THE SECOND TIME WAS ON MARCH 14, 2020. I KNOW THAT IT HAPPENED ONCE WHEN WE WERE TURNING AND DRIVING UNDER 10 MPH, BECAUSE THAT IS WHEN/WHY THE BODY DAMAGE HAPPENED. THIS CREATES AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITION AS WELL BECAUSE SOMETHING COULD FALL FROM OUR TRUCK BED IF THE TAILGATE OPENS WHILE WE ARE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, POSSIBLY KILLING SOMEONE OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 3500 pickup trucks, and Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 cab chassis vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engines. The High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) may fail, resulting in a sudden engine stall without warning.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the HPFP, update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software, and inspect and replace additional fuel system components as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters to inform owners of the safety recall were mailed on January 4, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 17, 2022. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 Pickup vehicles equipped with six-speed automatic (68RFE) transmissions. A build up of pressure and heat inside the transmission may result in a transmission fluid leak from the dipstick tube.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The leaking transmission fluid may contact the turbocharger or another ignition source within the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission valve body separator plate and reprogram the powertrain control module. The recall began March 2, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W03.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Ram 2500, 3500 and 3500 Cab Chassis trucks. The brake calipers may have been manufactured with an incorrect assembly fluid, which can cause the caliper's rubber seals to swell.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The swollen seals can cause the brakes to drag, potentially overheating the brakes and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake calipers and brake hoses and bleed the brakes, free of charge. The recall began October 24, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US' number for this recall is V98.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE21-021 on October 14, 2021, to investigate incidents alleging a stall/loss of motive power as a result of high-pressure fuel pump failures in certain model year (MY) 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 heavy duty trucks equipped with 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel engines. During the investigation, ODI sought to determine if the related defect allegation was limited in scope to the recalled population. After review of information request response materials from both FCA and BMW, NHTSA determined that sufficient information to identify a comprehensive recall population could not be produced by FCA and BMW.During the investigation FCA filed recalls 22V406, 22E048, 22V767, and 22E087 which include vehicles not identified in the initial subject population by ODI. ODI also received recall 21V586, involving loss of motive power due to failed CP4 fuel pumps on certain BMW manufactured vehicles. An information request letter response received from BMW indicated that failed pumps on their vehicles were caused by an interaction between pump internal components and US market diesel fuel, leading to increased slip and eventual particle-generating wear surface. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE21-021 on October 14, 2021 to investigate allegations of stall/loss of motive power as a result of high pressure fuel pump failures in certain model year (MY) 2019-2020 RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 heavy duty trucks equipped with 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel engines.On November 12, 2021, FCA filed vehicle recall 21V-880 and equipment recall 21E-094 on the subject population, identifying an `internally failed component? of the high pressure fuel pump equipped on the 6.7L Cummins Turbodiesel engine that introduced debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation and consequently an unexpected loss of motive power. Discussions with FCA identified the high pressure fuel pump equipped on these vehicles as the Bosch-supplied CP4. On December 16, 2021, Bosch filed recall 21E-101, stating the pump failure was a consequence of a manufacturer application-specific fuel system design.NHTSA subsequently identified recall 21V-586 involving loss of motive power due to failed CP4 fuel pumps on certain BMW vehicles.As a result of having received multiple recalls related to a common component, from two separate vehicle manufacturers, NHTSA?s focus shifted to determine if the related defect allegation was limited in scope to the recalled population. In early 2022, information request letters were sent to FCA and BMW to determine the root cause and consequentially identify the proper scope of potentially defective vehicles. After ODI received their information request response, FCA filed recalls 22V-406, 22E-048, 22V-767, and 22E-087. During review of information request response materials, NHTSA determined that sufficient information to identify a comprehensive recall population could not be produced by FCA or BMW.
