138 reportsLIGHT ON DASH CONSOLE CAME ON INDICATING THAT THERE WAS NO TRACTION CONTROL. UPON TAKING TO DEALER FOUND THAT THE ENTIRE ABS SYSTEM HAD FAILED
WHILE DRIVING 25 TO 30 MPH THE VEHICLE MAKES A CHIME SOUND 3 TIMES. THE THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ THE WRONG SPEEDS . THE DEALER HAD REPLACED THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE SENSOR AND PARKING LIGHTS. *AK
FREEZING ICE CAUSED DOORS NOT OPEN. ONCE DRIVER INSIDE ANOTHER DOOR MAY OPEN WITHOUT WARNING AFTER UNFREEZING. WATER SEEPS BETWEEN DOOR AND VEHICLE BODY AND FREEZES.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ABOUT 20 MPH, THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED WITHOUT APPLICATION, CAUSING ALL FOUR WHEELS TO LOCK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIRED SHOP. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. *AK

ABS SENSOR FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 40-45 MPH, DRIVER NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE BACK AREA OF VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVER STOPPED TO CHECK OUT CONDITIONS, THERE WAS A FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE, AND THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. *AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 1991 THROUGH JULY 1995. THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINE CAN SEPARATE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN LOW TEMPERATURES IN COMBINATION WITH HIGH TRANSMISSION LOADS.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: VEHICLE FIRES CAN OCCUR DUE TO THE SPILLAGE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES.
