AT THE SAME TIME OF RECOVERY THE AIR BAG LIGHT COME ON. SOON AFTER, I FOUND THAT THE HORN AND SPEED CONTROL DID NOT OPERATE. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE C/SPRING, MFG. PART NUMBER 5252468, COSTING 167.00 PLUS 13.78 TAX, FAILED INTERNALLY. IT IS THE ROTARY RELAY SWITCH ASSEMBLY FOR THE AIR BAG, SPEED CONTROL SWITCHES AND HORN, LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT IN OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES IS OF CONCERN.

Dec 27, 1989

THE ENGINE VALVE COVER GASKET MAY DISLOCATE AND ALLOW AN ENGINE OIL LEAK AT THE GASKET.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THE LEAKAGE OF OIL IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT COULD CAUSEA FIRE.

Remedy: REPLACE GASKET COVER WITH REVISED COVER, AND RTV SEALANT WILL BE APPLIED IN PLACE OF A GASKET.
