WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MPH CONSUMER TRIED TO AVOID HITTING A DEER, SLAMMED ON BRAKES AND VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN. A FRIEND SCANNED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE HYDRAULIC ELECTRICAL CONTROL UNIT NEEDED WORKING ON, AND SPEED SENSORS NEEDED TO BE LOOKED AT. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES PEDAL BECOMES VERY HARD AND RESISTS APPLICATION, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

ONGOING / INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH ABS BRAKE. WHEN APPLIED PEDAL WOULD GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND SLOWLY RISE BACK UP. AFTER RETURNING, CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. THIS POSES A DANGER OF A VEHICLE COLLISION. *AK

THESE VEHICLES WERE SHIPPED WITH THE WRONG OWNER'S MANUAL, AND, THEREFORE, THE CORRECT INFORMATION REGARDING SAFETY BELT USAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE OWNER. THIS DOES NOT CONFORM WITH FMVSS NO. 209, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: UNBELTED OCCUPANTS OR OCCUPANTS USING SAFETY BELTS INCORRECTLY ARE MORE AT RISK OF INJURY THAN THOSE USING THE SAFETY BELT IN THE CORRECT MANNER IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT.
Remedy: OWNERS AND OLDSMOBILE DEALERS ARE BEING MAILED THE CORRECT 1994 OLDSMOBILE BRAVURA OWNER'S MANUAL AND WILL BE ASKED TO INSTALL IT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPARTMENT AND REMOVE AND DISCARD THE INCORRECT OWNER'S MANUAL.
