While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle lunged before accelerating or occasionally failed to accelerate as intended, causing the contact to restart the vehicle to accelerate as desired. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The dealer had not repaired the vehicle; but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to inquire about a possible recall. The contact spoke with a second dealer, Hudson Nissan of Charleston (1714 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC 29407) and it was confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic and was also diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 168,860.

Losing power going up a small incline RPM's drop to 500 and speed drops from 55 to 30mph. No codes from scanning but check engine light is on. Nissan has no idea what…

Transmission went out at 167,000 miles. I bought the car used 3 years ago and have kept up the maintenance on the vehicle. About 6 months ago, I was driving home and the vehicle wouldn't accelerate above 20 mph. I kept cutting it on and off and trying to let it sit for a bit then trying to drive again. It wouldn't go above 20 mph. I had it checked out by a mechanic and was told I need a whole new transmission. He said that most of these transmissions don't get more than 120,000 before they go out. I then googled this issue to find so many complaints and Nissan is doing nothing about it. I even called Nissan to speak to someone about it and they acknowledged that they are aware of the transmission issues with this model but there isn't a recall so it will be up to me to pay for the repair. This is obsurd!!!! A company has put a faulty transmission in a vehicle and they are fully aware but do nothing to help their customers. I still owe $9k on the vehicle so I am out so much money.

When I purchased my car in July of 2020 there was a 6 month warranty on it and my RPM gage started bouncing while I was driving and having issues switching gears seeming like a transmission problem in October of 2020, I brought my car up to the dealership on November 3 of 2020 specifically even saying that I thought something was wrong with my transmission and they said nothing was wrong and I have proof, I brought it back several times with the same complaint and it was getting worse even after my warranty and they still said nothing was wrong. Now my engine light is one and my car will rev passed 3 RPM and my car wil not switch gears and I can’t go faster than 15 miles an hour. Something needs to be down I will not purchase a new transmission when I’ve brought it back to be checked several times something needs to be done about this now please.
