I HAD TO REPLACE BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL 400 TIRES WITH ONLY 22K MILES ON THEM. WE KEPT THE TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED, BUT STILL HAD PROBLEMS WITH AIR LOSS. WE HAVE A 2008 NISSAN SENTRA THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 12/2007. WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THOSE TIRES WITHIN A FEW MONTHS. THE TIRES PROBABLY HAD ABOUT 3000 MILES ON THEM AT THE TIME IT STARTED. AT FIRST WE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FAULTY SENSOR, BUT FOUND OUT OTHERWISE. THE CAR RODE VERY ROUGH AND THE TIRES WERE ALWAYS LOUD. THE DEALER BLAMED IT ON A NAIL, DID A CHEAP PATCH JOB AND THEN LATER DENIED THEY PATCHED IT AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRE. THE SENSORS ARE WORTHLESS TOO. THE LOW TIRE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE CAR WOULD START BOUNCING AROUND AND WE REALIZED IT WAS TIME AGAIN. FINALLY AFTER 1 1/2 YEARS OF PROBLEMS AND TAKING IT TO THE DEALER WE FINALLY HAD ENOUGH AND REPLACED THE TIRES AT A TIRE STORE. ANYONE WITH THESE TIRES SHOULD DO A GOOGLE SEARCH OF "BRIDGESTONE TURANZA PROBLEMS" AND "BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL400 COMPLAINTS". I HAVE SEEN COMPLAINTS FROM TOYOTA, BMW, MERCEDES, HONDA AND NISSAN OWNERS ABOUT THESE TIRES. THERE IS A PROBLEM. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THESE TIRES. OUR PROBLEM STARTED WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF BUYING THE CAR. *TR

REAR TIRES WORN COMPLETELY AT 15K MILES. DEALER REPLACED OUT OF POCKET. CONDITION CONTINUED, OTHER ORIGINAL 2 TIRES WORN OUT AT 23K MILES. DEALER FINALLY GOT A SHIM KIT ORDERED FROM NISSAN, THEY DON'T SPECIFY THIS AS A PROBLEM. DEALER WAS "UNAWARE" OF REAR AXLES BEING OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND I HAD TO PAY $72 TO GET AN ALIGNMENT TO PROVE IT. NO ADJUSTMENTS WERE POSSIBLE TO THE REAR END TO BRING IT BACK IN-LINE. THE DEALER HAD TO PAY FOR THE SECOND ALIGNMENT AFTER THE REPAIR. NISSAN ONLY PAID FOR THE DEALERS TIME AND SHIM KIT. NISSAN SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE NEW TIRES, $232, AND BOTH ALIGNMENTS, AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL TIRES THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE REAR OF THE CAR WANDERS WHEN ON ICE OR OTHER SLIPPERY SURFACES.*TR

I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY MAIL OF A RECALL ON OF MY BRAKES MASTER CYLINDER. I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN DOESN'T SEND RECALL NOTICES BY US MAIL ANYMORE....ONLY BY EMAIL. WHAT IF I HADN'T TAKEN IT IN FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE? MY BRAKES COULD HAVE FAILED AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME. *TR

I BOUGHT MY 2008 NISSAN SENTRA BRAND NEW IN SEPT 08. IN NOV 08 THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED TO RESET THE INDICATOR. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS OCCURS ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT. MY INDICATOR HAS LIT UP AGAIN AND I FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE. MY TIRES ALL HAD 33 LBS OF AIR IN THEM AT THE TIME. I WAS TOLD THE INDICATOR MAY HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER. THEY FURTHER TOLD ME THAT THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS INDICATOR FROM STAYING ON CONSTANTLY IS TO REMOVE THE AIR FROM MY TIRES AND REFILL THEM WITH NITROGEN WHICH WILL COST ME A FEE OF $50. I HAVE NOT EVEN OWNED MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED ABOUT THIS ISSUE BEFORE IT WAS BOUGHT AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED AT NO COST TO ME. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER FULL WARRANTY. *TR

NISSAN IS RECALLING 169,202 MY 2007-2008 SENTRA PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED ROBERT BOSCH MASTER CYLINDER. DUE TO THE MACHINING IRREGULARITY BY THE SUPPLIER, THE INTERNAL SEAL GROOVE IN THE BODY OF SOME BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS MAY ALLOW FOR A GAP IN THE GROOVE CONTACT AREA OF THE SEAL. THIS MAY RESULT IN BRAKE FLUID SLOWLY LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: IF THE WARNING LAMP IS IGNORED, ONE OF THE BRAKE CIRCUITS ON THE VEHICLE MAY NOT OPERATE AS DESIGNED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE MASTER CYLINDER/BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY AND IF BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE IS DETECTED, THE MASTER CYLINDER WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 20, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Nissan conducted safety recalls 08V-311 and 09V-431 to remedy leaking master cylinders on certain MY 2007 and 2008 Nissan Sentra vehicles. The recall populations were determined based on production changes to the master cylinder which were fully implemented into production on April 18, 2008.NHTSA utilized vehicle owner questionnaire (VOQ) reports and did not request field information from Nissan.ODI identified two MY 2008 Nissan Sentra VOQs including the petitioner?s vehicle, which were not covered by the recalls and reported a leaking master cylinder. Both of these incidents occurred 6 or more years into the service life of the vehicle.ODI also identified three VOQs which reported a leaking master cylinder after receiving the recall remedy. While one of these failures occurred within 36 months of the recall remedy, the other two occurred at a later time.ODI notes that the original recall addressed failures which occurred early in the life of the vehicle, typically during the first 36 months of service.Master cylinders are generally expected to experience wear and thus will display a finite service life. After a thorough review of the available data in NHTSA's VOQ database, the agency has not identified a trend that would call into question the scope or adequacy of Nissan's recalls.Accordingly, and in view of the need to allocate and prioritize NHTSA's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's safety mission, ODI is denying the petition.A detailed summary of ODI's analysis of this petition is available in the investigative file for this action, and will be published in the Federal Register also. The agency reserves the right to revise this assessment should future circumstances warrant. The VOQs cited above can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following reference numbers: 10299791 10330891 10449038 10567372 10638813 10805749 10839357
