On June 3, 2026, I brought my vehicle to O'Brien Nissan of Bloomington because I was experiencing significant problems with the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Specifically, the SERVICE NOW light came on, the vehicle would not shift into park, and I was concerned about a CVT malfunction. I explained these concerns to the service advisor Jason who is the current service manager and expected that the vehicle would be thoroughly inspected and any necessary repairs would be completed. The purpose of my visit was specifically to have the transmission issue addressed and repaired before it developed into a more serious safety concern. The dealership's response was as follows: • Complaint: The CVT malfunction SERVICE NOW light came on, and the car would not shift into park • Cause: TECH FOUND MULTIPLE STORED CODES. NO CURRENT CODES. TECH TESTED TRANSMISSION OPERATION AND FOUND NO ISSUE AT THIS TIME. • Correction: NO REPAIRS SUGGESTED FOR THIS VISIT According to the service manager Jason, the CVT was not serviced because it was approximately 3:30 p.m. when the customer returned the service request form through email and it was close to the end of the workday. When I got to the dealership to pick up and pay the total should have been $336.00 but it was $109.00 that’s when I requested to speak to the manager on duty. I expressed my concern about the CVT and the actions of the vehicle and how it would just take off when trying to park.  I was assured that my vehicle was safe to drive, and that sometimes lights just appear because the cars are digital  per Shawn the manager on duty and I relied on that representation when leaving the dealership.  The Multi-Point Inspection Report from June 3, 2026, also noted the following: Component Status Transmission Fluid Level/Condition Cautioned Fuel Injection System Cautioned Brake Fluid Condition Cautioned Cabin/HEPA Filter Cautioned Engine Air Filter Failed Rear Brake Linings (LR/RR) Cautioned Front Collision Avoidance Light

I took my suv to the shop and they replaced it at a cost of $1200. They blame me for spilling the coffee. I don't understand why you would put something like that next to a cup holder and not have it protected. I believe this should be recalled.

On XXX I was traveling with my [XXX] mother who has 2 plates to her hips from a fx. We had stopped at a rest area. I went to get her out of the front passenger side and the door would not open from outside or inside. The other doors were fine. She is not able to climb over the front console so I called the police. They were able to get her over the front seat to the back. Very upsetting for this to happen. I went online to see what the issue could be and saw there is a class action suit against Nissan on the door locks(actuator) as Nissan is refusing to do a recall. I went to my Nissan dealer to do repairs and sure enough it was the actuator. Cost of $940.95. The dealer could have cared less of what happened. This is a safety issue. What if all my locks did not open and she was stuck in the car since the temps were 96 that day.Receipt for repairs are attached. The vehicle suddenly lost motive power due to an engine/throttle control failure consistent with defects described in NHTSA Campaigns 26V081 and R25A8/R25A9/R25B1. It entered limp mode and became unable to accelerate. The vehicle is available for inspection. This created a safety risk because the vehicle was stranded in extreme heat for several hours with no access to water or shelter. I became overheated and physically distressed while waiting for assistance. Nissan would not tow the vehicle, so it sat overnight at a warehouse before eventually being transported to a dealership. A dealer confirmed the vehicle entered limp mode but did not complete the recall repair. The vehicle has now been at the dealership for four days without inspection, and I was told it should not have been towed there, so they will not prioritize it. The manufacturer cannot see the open recall because the dealer incorrectly marked it completed. Because the vehicle could not be driven and the defect has not been repaired, I was unable to travel to work and was terminated as a result. Warning lamps and messages appeared immediately before the failure, including reduced engine power and driver assist system unavailable.

I have two major safety concerns for my 2021 Nissan Rogue. 1) FAILED REAR DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE: I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 68,000 miles. The rear driver AND passenger side door lock actuator failed, causing the rear doors to no longer lock or unlock electronically using either the key fob or the interior power door lock switch. The door must now be operated manually from the inside, no one can freely open the doors from the outside. I have to crawl in the backseat to open the doors. This creates a safety concern because, in an emergency, a rear passenger may not be able to quickly exit the vehicle if the door cannot be unlocked electronically. This failure affects a rear passenger door and could delay a child's or other passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency if the electronic lock cannot be operated. It also creates a vehicle security concern because the door does not lock properly. I have found multiple reports from other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners describing the same rear door lock actuator failure at similar mileage. This appears to be more than an isolated incident. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident, and the failure occurred during normal use. 2) FAILED EGR VALVE: The EGR cooler has failed internally and is allowing engine coolant into the combustion chambers. The vehicle experienced a sudden engine malfunction related to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system failure. The diagnostic trouble code was P0401 –and was diagnosed with an EGR cooler failure causing coolant to leak into the combustion chambers. While driving, the vehicle displayed “Engine Malfunction-Power Reduced-Service Now.” The car went into reduced power mode, significantly limiting acceleration and normal vehicle operation, creating dangerous driving conditions. A sudden reduction in engine power on a highway or in traffic presents a significant safety hazard. Please investigate a recall.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Driver contact with a key in the collapsed position could inadvertently shut off the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the vehicle shuts off while driving, the air bags may not deploy in a crash as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.
