I was driving my daughter to school and started hearing a crunching noise, mostly when I turned or stopped. It also sounded like rattling. Once I got to my daughters school the noise became extremely loud and there was a loud bang and smoke coming from behind my car. It smelled burnt. A piece of my car had broken from underneath. After my husband looked at the car he found it to be the rear differential that exploded from under my car. I had the vehicle towed to my house because its not safe to drive. What I am most am concerned about is there was no warning or light that came on to indicate I had a issue with my car that required servicing.

Not sure why Nissan is not willing to fix the problem in additional Rogue years since this is still a life and death issue for the safety of the drivers.

They have been aware of this issue on 2021-2023 Rogues for several years, put out a technical service bulletin, but have not proactively fixed any of the vehicles. When this happened, my wife experience intermittent connectivity issues with the Rogue.

My 2013 Nissan rogue that we purchased in November keeps going into limp mode. It has happened several times. We’ve taken it to different shops and they all say it has a defective CVT transmission. It does not pull any codes and does not show that it’s overheating. It does make it dangerous for us and other cars on the road since it will happen on the freeway or as we are making a turn. We have been put in danger several times now. I can find several other years with the recall already. This problem is extremely dangerous when it all of a sudden doesn’t want to go or reduces speeds.

Dealership says they can’t fix it, Nissan North America says they can”t fix it. So I just spent over $49,000 for a brand new vehicle under warranty that no one can fix and I can’t rely on. Without cameras, I am not comfortable driving this defective vehicle. The other display doesn’t work accurately either. Outside temperature shows 75 degrees when in reality it’s 91 degrees and it also shows I got 68.6 miles per gallon (ha, ha). So I keep wondering what’s next?

I am the 2nd owner of a 2011 Nissan Rogue purchased in 2016. I have had four problems with the vehicle, the major one being the transmission that will not cool and overheats as soon as the temperature goes up. With the most recent heat wave, I have experienced no power going to the wheels. I had no power steering and had to push my car off the road with a friend with in the car. I also experienced a short in the system where it had no power at all and seemed to have no battery power, it clearly is an electrical short. The fourth issue is the passenger seat airbag. I have never received any notice from Nissan about any of these issues since I purchased the car used in 2016. When I called today, I was told that there were no recalls on my car and hung up on by Nissan America. I clearly saw four recalls that had been issued over the years on all four of these issues. I drive for the elderly, homeless, homebound and other persons in need in my community and have done so since I was 14 years old. I am a good citizen and have gone out of my way to try to make things right and just for all people. I am appalled at the conduct and behavior that I received on the phone today. I understand that my car is older but I would have returned my car for service if I had received a recall of which I received none. I know for fact that the recall for the transmission came out in 2016 and should have covered my car. I cannot take care of the people and continue with what I do in my community without a working car. I cannot afford a new car and surely do not deserve such disrespect.
