2017 Nissan Rouge should be recalled due to Faulty Transmission (Transmission Malfunction). 2017 Nissan Rouge is dangerous and places the life of driver, passengers and others at risk. Vehicle is available for inspection. On 07/20/2023 at approximately 10pm I arrived home with my Senior Mother and 5-year-old son who were seated in the back seat of my 2017 Nissan Rouge. I placed the car in park in my driveway, my 2017 Nissan Rouge remained in park for approximately 2 minutes while I removed an item from my driveway. When I returned to my vehicle that was in park for approximately 2 minutes with my Senior Mother and 5-year-old son in the backseat, I proceeded to turn the key that was in the ignition and pulled it out of the ignition. When I pulled the key out of the ignition the car proceeded to roll back while I was standing in the driver's door. My Mother and child began to scream that the car was moving and I was stuck between the driver's car door and the vehicle, so I reached for the emergency breaks as I was thrown to the ground, dragged and injured. Car rolled away and crashed into my neighbor's vehicle with my mother and child inside Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center: Problem was confirmed by a class action lawsuit (Case No. 3:21-cv-00099). Other Nissan Rouge car owners experienced their Nissan Rouge rolling away after placing vehicle in park due to transmission failure. Nissan did not recall the vehicles and awarded an additional 24,000 miles on the transmission past the original 60,000 miles. However, they have still not provided car owners notice of this specific issue. I never received notice that my 2017 Nissan transmission could unexpectedly fail causing my 2017 Nissan vehicle to roll away while in park with the engine off. A police report was filed with the Joliet Illinois Police Department. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Occasionally, when attempting to start driving from a complete stop (from a stop sign, traffic light, etc.) the Rogue will delay to accelerate and not move more than a few miles per hour for a few seconds before fully engaging. This is a safety issue when attempting to turn left at a green light, or crossing streets from a stop sign because there is no way to tell if the Rogue will delay in accelerating until you press the gas pedal. I have found that this is more likely to start happening after driving in stop and go traffic or on a route that has frequent stops. Also, occasionally after driving in stop and go traffic, the Rogue will begin to rev high and not accelerate. In both cases, if the Rogue is turned off and restarted, the problem stops and the Rogue accelerates normally again.

Sadly disappointed in the fact that my transmission is failing and is a known issue with these vehicles. I have contacted Nissan and their Infinity Consumer Affairs has called back. I try to call them back and get nothing but a voicemail. They don’t seem to want to address this issue. The transmission will not initially engage in either reverse or drive. It also upshifts for no reason when driving. It has about 93k miles on it and the transmission is junk. The company should have recalled all these cvt transmissions. I pulled it from my daughter to have her stop driving it due to I didn’t want her stranded on the side of the road while Nissan dances around my issue and other customers’ issues with these junky transmissions. I put a lot of faith in the Nissan brand to only be soured by this experience.

While driving in the rain on July 11, 2023 and for the first time I encountered rain dropping into the inside of my vehicle from several different places in the front windshield of my vehicle. The rain was falling profusely onto the gearshift area which caused me to multitask and try to cover the area to prevent any damage. I was able to get off the expressway and make it to the gas station where I took several pictures and videos. There were no warning lights or signs on my vehicle. There was an additional issue earlier this year when my car would not accelerate over 35-40 mph and when it did the car would shake badly. The car would just randomn make loud sounds and force a hard push before the accelerations. I took it to a Nissan dealership to find out the transmission had to be replaced. While driving the vehicle it steers toward the right. I also have noise from the bottom of the car and it appears there is something loose or dragging which causes making a left or right turn hard.

Right rear wheel bearing was bad. I was told at 66,000 miles, this was premature. This started approximately 3 weeks ago and was corrected today. I had to take it to two places before a diagnosis was made for loud driving noise and slight vibration. The wheel bearing could have locked up and caused a severe incident.

I was contacted by the dealer via a letter indicating the vehicle could have a recall. I failed to ask them what it was when I called to make an appointment. When I visited the dealer's service department, I was surprised to be referred to a salesperson (you see, one of the options is for the car owner to sell their vehicle and get a new one). I believe this practice is deceptive and dealers should not be allowed to send letters using the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and insinuating that there may be a recall associated with the vehicle.

PE19010 · False Automatic Emergency Braking

Opened Sep 9, 2019 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking

NHTSA received a defect petition (DP19-001) from the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) on March 21, 2019 alleging that the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system on Model Year (MY) 2017-2018 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle. The CAS petition additionally alleges that, based on Nissan's actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue due to issuing a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) launching two "Quality Actions," and initiating a "Customer Service Initiative" in relation to it. CAS contends that Nissan's actions do not represent an adequate long-term solution to the problem, as the action is only available during the basic coverage period of the warranty. CAS also argues that the alleged failures are an unreasonable risk to safety and views Nissan's communications as not acknowledging the potential safety issue involved, instead treating the alleged problem as a performance update. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) analyzed Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) complaints received from consumers and identified a total of 129 unique subject vehicle reports (for all submission dates) alleging a false positive triggering of AEB. Of these complaints, three were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system, and all three indicating related injuries. In response to ODI's April 15, 2019 Information Request letter, Nissan provided data indicating that it has received 750 unique subject vehicle complaints relating to false positive activation of the AEB system. Of these complaints, 12 were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system. Four complaints contained allegations of injuries, three of which were the result of a collision. These complaints included duplicates of complaints that ODI received. The injury allegations were limited to soft tissue type injuries such as whiplash and bruising.Based on its review of the information identified to date, ODI has granted the petition and is opening this preliminary evaluation in order to evaluate the cause, scope and frequency of AEB false positive activations, as well as to evaluate the suitability of the manufacturer's campaign to address the concern or improve performance of the AEB system. The complaints cited can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following ODI identification numbers: 11230875, 11230481, 11230361, 11229400, 11229302, 11229294, 11228994, 11223074, 11222925, 11222644, 11220499, 11218713, 11218608, 11217157, 11210334, 11210256, 11210148, 11209127, 11209032, 11207333, 11205931, 11205717, 11205661, 11205172, 11205124, 11205027, 11204803, 11204349, 11204324, 11196805, 11196561, 11196466, 11196091, 11195938, 11195574, 11194380, 11193989, 11192761, 11192283, 11192063, 11190855, 11190840, 11189976, 11187374, 11186903, 11185890, 11185883, 11185132, 11183406, 11180813, 11174713, 11173666, 11173302, 11172299, 11171331, 11170989, 11165434, 11164646, 11162898, 11162502, 11162396, 11161413, 11161230, 11155985, 11155209, 11155181, 11154181, 11153607, 11153334, 11151373, 11151028, 11142595, 11142557, 11142386, 11141775, 11141433, 11141387, 11141347, 11140604, 11139711, 11139226, 11133402, 11132376, 11130998, 11130662, 11129949, 11128704, 11124099, 11123564, 11123353, 11123321, 11122783, 11119475, 11119300, 11118604, 11115088, 11113479, 11113371, 11112371, 11111659, 11111057, 11110919, 11110689, 11104075, 11103844, 11103437, 11102715, 11102333, 11100117, 11099313, 11091006, 11089960, 11089798, 11089533, 11088815, 11088718, 11081072, 11079453, 11073644, 11072718, 11065505, 11061598, 11057739, 11056061, 11055766, 11048349, 11035301, 11033225, and 10972343.
