I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON MILITARY TRAIL PREPARING TO TURN RIGHT AT PIPERS GLEN. THE LIGHT WAS GREEN AND THERE WAS A WHITE CAR IN THE MIDDLE LANE WAITING TO ENTER MILITARY. I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE MY TURN AND SUDDENLY MY CAR ACCELERATED. IF I CONTINUED TO TURN THERE WAS NO DOUBT I WOULD HAVE HIT THE WAITING CAR. I PROCEEDED STRAIGHT, PASSED THIS CAR AND DROVE ONTO A GRASSY AREA. MY FRONT WHEEL HIT THE CURB WHICH SLOWED MY CAR BUT PUSHED ME ALONG THE SIDE OF THE WHITE CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS. THE FIRE TRUCKS CAME AND A POLICE CAR. SINCE NO ONE WAS HURT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE TO BE TOWED . MY SON PICKED ME UP AND I CALLED THE TOWING CO. ABOUT 1 HOUR LATER I WAS CALLED AND TOLD THE TOW WAS ON THE WAY. WHEN WE ARRIVED TO WHERE MY CAR WAS I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE FRONT LIGHTS ON. THERE WAS A MOTOR NOISE AND THE HOOD WAS HOT . WHENWE LEFT THE CAR THERE IT WAS LOCKED AND THE MOTOR WAS NOT ON. IF THIS WERE NOT THE CASE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LOCK THIS CAR HAVING A KEYLESS ENTRY. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT EVER DRIVING THIS CAR WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES. I CALLED BOTH NISSAN AND THE REPAIR COMPANY AND REPORTED WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD SCAN THE CAR BUT SOMETIMES NOTHING SHOWS UP. I USE MILITARY TRAIL ALMOST EVERY DAY AND PIPERS GLEN LEADS TO MY HOME. I AM HAPPY THAT NO ONE WAS HURT BUT HAUNTED BY REALIZING WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED IF I ATTEMPED TO MAKE THAT RIGHT TURN.BOTH THESE ROADS ARE CITY STREETS.I HAVE NO PICTURESEXCEPT FOR MY MEMORY.

I DON'T SEE ANY FLUIDS SO I DRIVE VEHICLE TO SERVICE KING, VERY SLOWLY, A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. I CALLED NISSAN ON MONDAY, THEY TOOK MY INFO SAID SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME. DEHENRY CALLED NEXT DAY, SAID NISSAN IS NOT LIABLE. I REQUESTED THEY LET ME TRADE VEHICLE FOR A NEW ONE, I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THAT VEHICLE NOR SHOULD ANYONE ELSE DRIVE IT. I ALSO ASKED THEY PAY FOR CAR RENTAL, DEDUCTIBLES, TOWING OR ANY OF MY EXPENSES. NISSAN INFORMED ME THEY COULD NOT SEND AN INVESTIGATOR TO LOOK AT VEHICLE UNTIL JANUARY 5, 2017 WITH NO GUARANTEES THAT NISSAN WOULD BE LIABLE.I RESEARCHED THE VEHICLE ONLINE AND THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE TO SOMEONE ELSE YET NISSAN HAS NOT DONE A RECALL. ALMOST 3 MONTHS INTO CAR WHILE DRIVING SPEED WAS LIKE WHEN THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL(BUT ON DRIVE) & IF I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENED THEN IT TURNED OFF. I THOUGHT IT WAS A 1 TIME THING, THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN ALMOST 2 MONTHS AFTER, DEALER SAID WE CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES THEY COULD NEVER FIND THE ISSUE. THEN IT WOULDNT EVEN TURN ON MAKING A LOUD NOISE THEN SAYING KEY NOT DETECTED. THEN AFTER THIS TOWING COMPANY JUMP STARTED CAR, & AT THE DEALER IT HAPPENED TO THEM ONCE. THEY SAID THEY TESTED EVERYTHING BUT CAR WOULD SAY KEY NOT DETECTED. THEN AFTER WE TOLD THEM WE SUBMITTED EVERYTHING TO CORP[ORATE OFFICE THEY SAID IT WAS JUST THE BATTERY & IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THE JUICE IN THE BATTERY WAS ALL DRAINED & SOMETHING ELSE HAD TO CAUSE THAT ESPECIALLY WHEN IT SAYS KEY NOT DETECTED. THAT THEY DON'T FEEL SAFE US TAKING CAR BACK UNTIL THEY CAN FIND ISSUE BUT LUIS AT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA SAID THAT IS NOT WHAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD THEM. THAT THEY CAN'T HELP US DOING A BUY OUT FOR THIS DEFECTIVE CAR BECAUSE TO THEM NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS AND UNSAFE MATTER AND THE LAST TIME IT TURNED OFF ON ME I WAS IN THE HIGHWAY I45 HAD TO SLOWLY LET IT GO TO THE SIDE ROAD UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO TURN BACK ON. AT THE MOMENT IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE ONLY PERSON TRYING TO HELP & SEEM CONCERN IS DOUG AT SERVICE DEPT.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Driver contact with a key in the collapsed position could inadvertently shut off the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the vehicle shuts off while driving, the air bags may not deploy in a crash as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.
Jan 21, 2022
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Rogue vehicles. The electrical connector for the under dash harness may corrode due to water and salt intrusion from the driver's side foot well.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Corrosion in the electrical connector can result in power window/seat failure, all-wheel-drive warning light illumination, battery drainage, and electrical connector damage that increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will remove the harness tape and harness covering and replace both connectors and apply white lithium grease to the connectors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 23, 2022. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R21B9.

An incorrect Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may have been installed in the front passenger seat. The incorrect ECU and seat combination may misclassify the front passenger seat occupant.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the front passenger seat occupant is misclassified, the air bag may deploy incorrectly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU and update the OCS software free of charge. The recall began February 13, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
Remedy: Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Corrosion of one or both of the rear lift gate support stays could cause a sudden release of pressure. If this occurs, the support stays may break off, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear tailgate stays, free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

As such, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the shift selector can be moved out of the "Park" position while the brake pedal is not depressed, the vehicle may unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."
Consequence & remedy

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The labels list the incorrect tire size. Installing tires of the incorrect size may increase the risk of a crash.

During the assembly process, the front wheel hub assembly fasteners may not have been properly torqued.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The under-torqued fasteners may result in a brake caliper separating from the wheel assembly causing a reduction in braking performance or reduced steering control. These conditions increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and tighten any loose bolts to the proper specification, free of charge. The recall began February 2, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
