Mercedes says it's out of warranty and asking 15k to replace cylinder head.

The contact owns a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE350. The contact stated that on several occasions while the ON/OFF system was activated, while making left and right turns and then stopped the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was shifted into park(P) and restarted after each failure. The vehicle was idling and the engine sputtered and ran rough. Additionally, the contact stated that while idling, the vehicle shuddered and ran rough on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the exhaust valve seats needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

There is a leaking valve seat in the cylinder head 3. This causes the cylinder to lose compression, the car to lose power, and the vehicle fails to move from a full stop.
The cylinder head which lead to engine problems after the repair it lead to a failure of the positive crankcase valve.

There is a signal above permissible limit value. P1CE577- Injector injection quantity adjustment for uniform mixture formation has detected an excessively lean mixture in at least one cylinder. The command position cannot be reached. P219E77- Mixture formation (Cylinder 3) is irregular. The command position cannot be reached. I have taken the vehicle into an independent service provider to be evaluated, which is where I received the information for the codes above. The vehicle is now at the dealership being evaluated. A check engine light has been present. There has not been a complete mechanical failure or safety issue due to this specific concern; however, this is a growing concern with this engine, and there is already a similar complaint with these exhaust valve components in other Mercedes models.

The car makes a rumbling sound when the car is stopped and the brake is engaged. We took the car to the Marietta dealer who indicated the motor mounts were wearing out. the manager provided a quote for replacement. The mileage is 62,xxx. The motor mounts should not be wearing out with only 62,000. The motor mounts wearing out could lead to other problems. Mercedes USA says it is up to the dealer to warranty the item. How dopes this make any sense when they did not build the car? I believe this could be a very dangerous situation. The service manager stated they change about 3-4 mounts every month. ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND TAKE TO DEALER. COMPLAINT ABOUT SPEED CONTROL WHEN GAS IS APPLIED THE CAR DIDN'T RESPOND AND ENGINE STAY DEAD. CAR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RESETTED. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 GLE350, GLE450, GLS450, GLS580, 2021 AMG GLE53, AMG GLE63, Maybach GLS600, AMG GLS63, and 2020 GLE580 vehicles. The air conditioner drain hoses may have been incorrectly installed, causing water to drain into the passenger compartment.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Water intrusion into the foot wells may cause corrosion and/or short circuits to electrical components, increasing the risk of fire. In addition, the emergency call (eCall) feature may be disabled and the doors may not unlock, increasing the risk of injury. Also, the engine may not start or may enter a limp-home mode, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and reinstall the air conditioner drain hoses, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2023. During certain evasive driving maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software may apply torque to one of the front wheels, pulling the vehicle to one side. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the vehicle unexpectedly pulls to one side during an evasive maneuver, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the reverse light remains illuminated in a gear other than reverse, it may cause confusion about the driver's intention to other motorists, and increase the risk of a crash.

Consequence: In the event of a crash where the passenger air bag deploys, an unsecured dashboard could impair the inflation of the passenger air bag, increasing the risk of injury.

The connection of the locking ring between the front and rear part of the drive shaft might not have been installed correctly, possibly resulting in a loss of power transfer between the transfer case and the rear axle differential.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the transfer case disconnects from the rear axle differential the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory, therefore no owners will be notified. Dealers will replace the drive shaft, free of charge. Both vehicles were repaired in December 2020.
