I have had numerous issues with my 2019 A220. At 92k mi my cylinder head had to be replaced. My check engine light came on and they said there was a cylinder head leak. At 108k miles I had to have it replaced yet again because my car lost power driving uphill when shifting between 4th and 5th gear. Now at 112k mi the check engine light came on and sure enough they need to replace all 4 ignition coils… Additionally, I have issues with my air vents. They will frequently send air out of a section I have turned off (ex. turn air on my upper body and it sends air to my feet instead). Somewhat related but whenever I turn my car off it makes a lot of strange noises on the inside of the car by my entertainment center, almost similar to a stomach grumbling/farting noises. Lastly, I’ve had issues with trying to close my windows and they’ll close fully but then drop down half an inch or so afterward.
The tow hook and strap used when necessary to tow a car and that is stowed under the car or behind the rear bumper and accessed through a small door on the bumper spontaneously deployed while I was driving. The tow hook and strap used when necessary to tow a car and that is stowed under the car or behind the rear bumper and accessed through a small door on the bumper spontaneously deployed while I was driving. It flew up against the side of the car, causing minor damage, damaged and partially dislodged the rear bumper, and the hook embedded in the right rear tire, causing it to go flat. I am waiting to learn whether there is additional damage to the underside of the car such as to a brake line. The parts are available for inspection. This is not a problem to be reproduced! I have photos showing the car and the hook in my tire. The only warning light appeared after the tire started losing pressure, but the thump sound as the hook and strap hit my car, and as the tire rotated and drove over the hook alerted me first. The weather was clear, there was no immediate traffic, no obstacles in the road. No sign of a bullet or something to cause it to deploy.

This causes driver to see things that are in the left rear to display on the screen as if it was in the right rear. Cross traffic appears to cone from the opposite side. When backing and turning, the camera shows the opposite direction of where the wheel is being turned. Causes confusion in processing the information. The dealership informed me that it is a software issue and will wait on the upgrade. However, when I called Mercedes, they do not know if and when the software will be upgraded inspite of the numerous reports of the same issue by other owners of different models to the dealership.

For about two years, I have been experiencing problems with my Mercedes Benz, and Mercedes Benz has done nothing to help. The jolting issues on my 2019 Mercedes Benz A220 4 matic have never been fixed. I am afraid to drive because I am a young woman, and I cannot afford to get a new car due to financial issues. I have been without a car for several weeks because they haven't been able to fix the same issue. In addition, I have had to request Mercedes loaner cars consistently when my vehicle is being repaired. I want this to be over and to have my car fixed for good. It has caused me emotional and mental distress to have to pay for rentals when they don't have loaner cars. Mercedes has found the issue, however, the problem will return. I have been to their locations approximately 10 times due to this issue, and I feel there is never a resolution. It has been evident each time I visit Mercedes Benz that they don't care about me as a client. The whole process of trying to "fix" the jolting issue has taken nearly over a month, which has become unbearably stressful for me. The car problems have affected my work as well as my academic life as a student.

I have leased this vehicle from New in 2019. Since early 2020 I had the check engine come on as well as Tire Sensors. I informed Dealership and they took in for repair. My vehicle is repaired and handed back only for the check engine light and tire sensors to come back on. My vehicle has been in the service department for about 8 times and each time the check engine returns. No reason is given for the failure other than "bring it back and we will fix again". My check engine light is currently now back on and I have to return it again on Tuesday 7th Feb. It would have been in for repair more times but in 2020 I was told by the Dealership Service Manager at that time that it was safe to drive with the check engine light on..which I did. At this time I did contact MBusa and dealt with Executive Referral Manager [XXX]. I also contacted her again in 2022 for assistance. The Dealership can not fix the Check engine light as they have proved by the multiple failed attempts. They have has my vehicle in for weeks during my 42 month lease which ends on 30th March 2023. For nearly all this time the check engine light has been on I have recently again discussed this with MBusa and last week I was connected to another MB Executive Referral Manager called [XXX]. He confirmed that MBusa can not give vehicle mechanical or safety advice [which I found strange] as there is no department within MBusa that deals with this type of enquiry. He stated that whatever the Dealership sees as being safe then MBusa will stand by that decision. I have driven for nearly the whole of my lease with Check engine light on and tire sensor readings. I am handed back my vehicle with the assurance that it has been repaired only for it to fail .on one occasion within 2 miles drive from picking it up. Service Manager does not see this as an issue but I am totally unsure as to what the warning light is telling me and this has made me not enjoy my vehicle or to feel safe. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CLA, 2019-2022 A-Class, 2022-2023 C-Class, 2024 CLE, 2020-2026 GLA/GLB, and 2023-2024 GLC vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific model information. The micro-switch in the driver's door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open door, preventing the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's door lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Driving with worn brake pads can reduce braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

The LED headlights may have been incorrectly adjusted during a vehicle repair. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Incorrectly adjusted headlights may reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019-2021 CLA-Class, GLE/GLS-Class, A-Class, E-Class, E-Class Coupe and Convertible, GLA/GLB-Class, GLC-Class, CLS-Class, and AMG GT-Class 4-door Coupe vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle model details. The MBUX multimedia system software may cause the display to remain black, or reboot after startup. This could result in the rearview camera image not displaying properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence: A backup camera that displays a blank image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Consequence: Water entering electrical components, can result in malfunctions of the supplemental restraint system (SRS), failure to start, activation of the limp-home mode while driving, and an impairment of other features, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
