Within approximately three weeks of purchasing this vehicle, the blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic sensor systems were found to be completely inoperative. All dashboard warning lights related to these systems were illuminated the night before discovery, then went dark the following morning. A subsequent inspection by a licensed Lexus dealership confirmed the failure was caused by prior undisclosed rear collision damage. Both rear blind-spot modules showed zero CAN bus communication. The following diagnostic trouble codes were confirmed: U0233, U023387, U0232, P057113, P157800, P1152A, P160400, C13807E, U0163, C142571, and B1576. The rear bumper had been improperly repaired using adhesive rather than factory fasteners. The rear lamp was barely installed and misaligned. A screw was installed in an incorrect location. The dealership noted that attempting to remove the bumper to visually inspect the blind-spot modules would cause additional damage due to the poor prior repair.
