TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2009 KAWASAKI 1700 NOMAD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM KAWASAKI IN OCTOBER 2010 AND CALLED TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT ON NOVEMBER 9, 2010. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN WAITING OVER TWO MONTHS FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE AND THE MANUFACTURER ONLY STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER INSISTS THE CONTACT NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO FAIL. THE RECALL WAS NOT AVAILABLE SINCE IT WAS ISSUED DIRECTLY FROM KAWASAKI. THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT GIVE A TIME FRAME WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE WAS 5 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
