My vehicle is affected by multiple safety recalls related to the high-voltage battery / charging system. The recall instructions include safety restrictions such as not parking near structures/buildings and limiting/avoiding charging (or following specific charging precautions) due to a potential safety hazard (including fire risk). Despite these warnings, there is no available remedy/repair at this time, and an authorized dealer has confirmed the recalls apply but cannot complete the recall repairs. Separately (and repeatedly), while driving the vehicle has displayed a “STOP SAFELY / PULL OVER” warning message multiple times. Each time this occurs I must pull over immediately due to concern for a sudden loss of propulsion or unsafe operation in traffic. This creates a significant safety risk to me and others because it can occur unexpectedly and could lead to a crash, loss of power, or being stranded in an unsafe location. The condition has been reproduced multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection. The exact root cause is UNKNOWN at this time, and I have not received a permanent fix.

Multiple times when driving, at interstate speeds and highway speeds I have a full loss of power, requiring me to pull to the side of the road and power off the car and power it back on. Turtle mode gets activated not allowing me to go more than 5mph. Not safe at all especially when children are in the car. I have had the dealer look at this multiple times and they continue to say they have updated the system. I cannot imagine a software update will fix the vehicle intermittently losing power. I am a Jeep brand enthusiast but Stellantis missed the boat on this car. They have created an unsafe, unreliable vehicle that is putting my family at risk every time I drive it. Last night I was offered $100 because the EV component shouldn’t be used now, I can’t park it inside, and can’t charge it. It really is almost bait and switch that I bought a vehicle that is not able to be used in the manner it was sold to me for.

Dash cluster will go blank upon starting. This has happened every few weeks since I bought it in Nov 2019. Reported to local dealership in ealry 2020, but when you turn off Jeep, the next time it restarts, everything looks fine and they could not reproduce the problem at the dealership and had no answers as they had not seen it before, as no codes were being given. I never went back since i was told they had no answers. When it happens, you are driving blind-No digital speedometer, warning lights or gas gauge when it happens. Now the most recent issue, the security system light comes on randomly upon starting. Also have to push start button more than once to get it to actually start, so this could be different issues. A recall for the cluster finally came out last year i think, but my Jeep was not on the recall list even though it DOES have the problem and has had it for years. Would love some help or guidance!

A 2nd recall has been issued for the Hybrid Battery system and once again Jeep has no remedy available. My safety is at risk to due to the possibility of a car fire. I am also unable to use the car as intended due to safety concerns. Jeep needs to be held accountable for selling a very expensive vehicle that not only does not work properly but could catch on fire. It is unacceptable for owners to be left in limbo due to the negligence shown by Jeep. If they cannot sell a car that operates safely then they should be made to reimburse the owners.

After pressing the start/stop button to start the vehicle, it immediately began making a loud and unusual noise. Recognizing that this was not a normal sound, I pressed the start/stop button again in an attempt to turn the vehicle off. However, the vehicle did not disengage and would not shut off as expected. The noise continued and became louder, and smoke began coming from the sides of the vehicle and from underneath. When the hood was opened, there was very thick white smoke coming from the engine compartment along with a strong burning smell. The smoke was too thick to determine whether there were any visible flames. After a short period of time, the engine finally disengaged on its own, but the smoke continued for a period of time after the vehicle shut off. The exact cause of the shutdown is unknown. We did not attempt to restart the vehicle. After the incident, there was visible melted plastic material and residue on the concrete beneath the vehicle, consistent with something overheating or melting in the engine compartment. The vehicle was not driven after this incident and was towed to the nearest dealership for inspection, where it remains pending further evaluation.

Multiple failed recalls to stop vehicle High Voltage battery fires. I've already had the battery pack replaced once and now another recall of a software flash (68c) to test the battery cells separators for damage. So again the issue is still there and this is just another band-aid to catch it before it catches fire. This has been a ongoing issue for over a year and the issue is still not properly corrected. Multiple months of no charging, no parking in garage or near other vehicles/structures just to have another band-aid of a software flash, to stop the fire before it starts doesn't make me feel safe enough to put my family in this vehicle or to still want to charge or park anywhere near other vehicles or structures. This is the same process that "fixed" this issue the last time that obviously isn't a fix at all. The new battery they installed in 07/22/25 is just more of the same junk batteries without a proper fix.

I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe (JL PHEV). The vehicle is subject to safety recall 25V‑741 (manufacturer recall 68C) for high‑voltage battery fire risk, and also recall 78C affecting the 2.0L engine. For recall 68C, Jeep and NHTSA instruct owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outside and away from structures and other vehicles because the high‑voltage battery could fail internally and start a fire, even when parked. This means I cannot safely park in my garage or charge at home. I have a [XXX] infant in the home, so any increased fire risk near the residence is especially concerning. Jeep has not yet provided a final remedy or a clear timeline for a fix for 68C, so this situation is indefinite. In practice, the vehicle now operates as a less‑efficient gas‑only vehicle, with reduced usable range, higher fuel costs, and loss of the plug‑in electric function I paid for. I am also instructed to leave a potentially defective high‑voltage battery pack on my property and outdoors, which feels unsafe for my family. In addition, recall 78C raises concerns about potential engine defects and possible fire risk or major engine damage, further impacting the safety and reliability of this vehicle. My dealer and the manufacturer have confirmed the recalls but so far have not provided a loaner, buy‑back, or other adequate remedy, despite the “park outside / do not charge” safety instructions and the presence of an infant in the home. I am requesting that NHTSA closely review these recalls, the lack of an available remedy, and the real‑world safety and hardship impact on owners who cannot safely park or charge their vehicles as originally intended. On top of this, I put about $10,000 down on the lease expecting to purchase the vehicle as a long‑term PHEV. That down payment now feels like a sunk cost into a product that cannot be safely used as advertised, and the situation is starting to resemble a potential lemon‑law case. I leased a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Gengras CJDR in Fairfield, CT. I received two catastrophic recall notices from Jeep on Nov. 24th, 2025 and was notified of a third catastrophic recall when speaking to Jeep Customer Care on Nov. 25th, 2025. The first recall notice, # 68C/NHTSA25V-741, pertains to the car's high voltage battery. The HV battery in my vehicle "may become damaged during normal vehicle operation, which could lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from charging. Out of an abundance of caution, FCA US is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained". FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. The second recall notice, #A7C/NHTSA25V-710, pertains to the vehicle's HCP randomly resetting, which causes a loss of engine power, regardless of vehicle speed. The vehicle has been updated with "Firmware Over-the-Air" software which may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), this condition may cause the HCP to perform a reset. An hcp which resets while driving may cause a loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. I was advised of the third recall notice when I spoke to Carl, of Jeep Customer Care, on November 25th, 2025. I was assigned case #XXX. I was told the third recall involves remnants of sand and finishing debris of the engine block was found to cause the engine cylinders to seize, causing a loss of drive power and possibly a crash as well. FCA US has NO REMEDY for this recall either. My car is a DEATH TRAP! How can Jeep continue to sell a car like this and not face a class action lawsuit? I refuse to drive the car. PE25014 · Instrument Panel Cluster (ipc) Failure

Opened Oct 23, 2025 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/panel

The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) is opening a Preliminary Evaluation on 2020 Model Year Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers involving a malfunctioning Instrument Panel Clusters (IPC) resulting in the loss of important vehicle metrics and other status information.  ODI has received 89 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) alleging a complete or partial loss of the IPC display while driving.  The subject vehicles' IPC display includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, turn signal indicators, warning light, and other gauges that are normally illuminated while the vehicle is in operation.  Loss of the fuel gauge while driving may lead to an inability to determine the fuel level and result in a loss of motive power, and the loss of other safety-related information may impede a driver’s ability to take action to prevent a safety risk.  Furthermore, an IPC that is suddenly not visible to the driver may divert the driver’s attention from the driving task, potentially causing a vehicle crash. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation to evaluate the scope, severity and frequency of the alleged IPC malfunctions and to assess potential safety-related consequences. NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.

DP14004 · Totally Integrated Power Module Failure

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System

In a letter dated August 21, 2014, the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to initiate a defect investigation of alleged failures associated with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) installed in Chrysler SUV?s, trucks, and vans beginning in the 2007 model year. The petitioner alleges that TIPM defects may result in engine stall, airbag non-deployment, failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration, fire, and other symptoms. On September 25, 2014, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened DP14-004 to evaluate the petition for a grant or deny decision. ODI analyzed complaint data provided by CAS as well as complaints submitted to ODI from consumers. In total, there were 296 complaints submitted by the petitioner in the original petition and five supplements, including 271 complaints related to the subject vehicles equipped with TIPM-7. Approximately 3 percent of CAS complaints are related to vehicles equipped with TIPM-6 and ODI?s review of these complaints did not identify any safety defect trends. ODI conducted a detailed review of complaints narratives submitted by CAS and consumers including careful analysis of vehicle repair histories, warranty claims obtained from the manufacturer and any available Customer Assistance Inquiry reports (CAIR). Analysis of the field data indicated that MY2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles exhibited significantly higher complaint rates related to fuel pump relay (FPR) failures than other subject vehicles. In a September 3, 2014 letter to NHTSA, Chrysler submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR) identifying a defect in the FPR within the TIPM-7 which can result in a no start or stall condition in approximately 188,723 model year (MY) 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) and Dodge Durango (WD) vehicles manufactured from January 5, 2010 through July 20, 2011 (14V-530).In a February 24, 2015 letter, Chrysler submitted a second DIR expanding the scope of the FPR defect condition to include an additional 338,216 MY 2012 through 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured from September 17, 2010 through August 19, 2013 and MY 2012 through 2013 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured from January 18, 2011 through August 19, 2013 (15V-115).ODI analysis of the CAS allegations of TIPM defects resulting in stall while driving, airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, fire and other faults identified a single defect condition related to 1 of over 60 different circuits in the TIPM assembly. The most common effect of this defect condition, related to the fuel pump relay, was a no-start concern, but it could also result in stall while driving (76 complaints). No valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components.Except insofar as the petitioner's contentions relate to the defect condition addressed by the Chrysler recalls, the factual bases of the petitioner's contentions that any further investigation is necessary are unsupported. In our view, additional investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists or a NHTSA order for the notification and remedy of a safety-related defect as alleged by the petitioner at the conclusion of the requested investigation. Therefore, in view of the need to allocate and prioritize NHTSA's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's safety mission, the petition is den
