The contact owned a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, black smoke was coming from the exhaust, and the husband smelled an abnormal burning odor entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the road, and a fire started coming from under the hood. The contact stated that while her husband was attempting to unlatch the hood, after unlatching the front driver’s and passenger’s side hood latches and attempting to unlatch the 3rd hood latch, the fire rose and burned both hands. The local Fire Department arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. The source of the fire was not yet determined. A Police report was not filed. No medical attention was sought; however, the contact's husband had fallen attempting to create distance between the fire and sustained a pulled shoulder, bruises on the right elbow, and right knee, while being pre-diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. The vehicle was towed by a local independent mechanic. The contact and her husband were on vacation when the vehicle caught on fire and the luggage with personal items were burned in the fire. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power and would not accelerate beyond approximately 60 mph. This created a safety risk because I could not maintain normal highway traffic speed. I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealership, where a recall repair was performed. However, the same loss-of-power issue occurred again. After further inspection, the dealership informed me that the vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 78C and requires a complete engine replacement. I am not a technician and cannot determine the exact cause of the failure; I have relied on the dealership and Stellantis for diagnosis and repair. The dealership confirmed that the replacement engine is on backorder and the repair cannot be completed. My vehicle has been at the dealership since June 2, 2026, and has been unavailable for nearly two months. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Neither the dealership nor Stellantis has provided an estimated date for parts availability or repair completion. The timeline is UNKNOWN. The recall and engine replacement requirement were confirmed by the authorized dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Manufacturer inspection is UNKNOWN. I do not recall any warning lamps or messages before the power loss occurred. I continue to make monthly lease payments for a vehicle I cannot use. No loaner vehicle was provided. Stellantis offers rental reimbursement of up to $50 per day, but this does not cover actual rental costs. Even the least expensive rentals in my area exceed $50 per day, requiring me to pay additional expenses out of pocket. This is the second time a manufacturer recall has caused an extended loss of vehicle use. A previous recall kept my vehicle unavailable for more than one month. My lease expires in February 2027, but I continue paying while the vehicle remains unusable. I requested a buyback due to the lack of a repair timeline, but Stellantis denied my request

I own a 2024 Jeep with approximately 44,000 miles. The dealership diagnosed a failed engine motor mount and quoted approximately $1,200 for the repair. I am concerned because the motor mount failed at relatively low mileage without any accident, misuse, or other known cause. When I asked the dealership why it failed, I was told there was “no reason” and that “it just happens.” They were unable to provide any additional explanation. I also asked whether there were any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to this issue and whether the repair should be covered under my remaining powertrain warranty. I was told the motor mount was not covered, but I was not given a clear explanation or shown the specific warranty exclusion. My concern is that a failed motor mount can allow excessive engine movement, which may affect vehicle operation, damage other components, or create a safety risk if it occurs while driving. I am submitting this complaint so the issue can be documented and investigated to determine whether this is a broader defect affecting similar vehicles.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler due to serious and unresolved safety defects that render the vehicle unsafe for operation and present an immediate risk to public safety. One of the active safety recalls involves a condition in which the vehicle may suddenly lose power while driving. I have personally experienced this dangerous failure on three separate occasions while operating the vehicle. Each incident required me to return the Jeep to the dealership for repair. Despite three separate service visits and extended periods during which the dealership retained the vehicle, the recall has not been resolved and the underlying safety defect continues to persist. The risk of sudden power loss while driving creates an imminent and severe hazard, significantly increasing the likelihood of a crash that could result in serious injury or death to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Despite repeated repair attempts, no permanent remedy has been provided. I have further been informed that no effective or final repair is currently available for this recall, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe and unresolved condition. Given the repeated failures and the ongoing inability to correct this defect, I consider this vehicle unsafe for operation on public roads. Immediate regulatory intervention is necessary to prevent potential harm. I respectfully urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to initiate a prompt investigation into this matter and to take all appropriate enforcement actions to ensure that a timely, effective, and permanent remedy is provided to all affected vehicle owners without further delay. Thank you for your urgent attention to this critical safety issue.

I have kids and family members who have been in my car when it happens and refuses to get in. It just shuts down without warning and on the display shows P Instead of D flashing. My vehicle has had issues since October of 2024, I bought it March 2024. The first problem that arose was the fuel door button wouldn’t work, the informant screen flickered, and engine light would come on and off all of this began after getting it serviced Oct 2024, I took back to the dealership 3 days later to get it diagnosed. The fuel tank isolation valve was the problem which caused the vehicle to not be able to be pumped, the gas would start spilling when attempted to pump, which left me stranded a few time. This was also causing the electrical flickering and shaking of the vehicle. They were able to fix the issue 3 months later after having the vehicle for a week, during those 3 months the vehicle was still shaking, the electrical components kept flickering or turning off, and it was difficult to pump gas. Last November the vehicle started shaking when I drove it, or stall in the middle of the road. My sensors would stay on for my mirrors even when no one was driving near me or just turn off. My informant screen would just show a black screen and wouldn’t turn on. My engine light turns on and off, so I took it in for the last two recalls to be fixed on June 3, 2026 (#78C 2023-2025 MY WL PHEV, 2024- 2025 JL PHEV 2.0L ESS E) & (#68C 2020-2025 JL & 2022-2026 WL PHEV HV BATTERY FIRES) and now the car hasn’t turned on since July 20, 2026. The dealership won’t send a tow although my car will not turn on because of the new software install they put in. I requested my service records to be sent to me and they refused and made me come in person for all my service receipts.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 46D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles. The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.
