Vehicle experienced a complete and sudden loss of power, propulsion, and steering control WHILE DRIVING. The vehicle instantly shut down in motion and we were unable to accelerate, control speed, or safely maneuver, steering wheel locked. This created an immediate and severe risk of collision for myself, my spouse, and my young child who was in the vehicle at the time. There are multiple open safety recalls on this vehicle (including electrical system/propulsion defects), but no repairs or remedies are available, and the manufacturer is refusing to provide towing, inspection, or safe transportation. I reported the total power loss to the manufacturer. Despite this being an extremely dangerous event consistent with the recall symptoms, I was repeatedly told the vehicle is “safe to drive in gas mode,” even though they did NOT inspect it, did NOT ask for diagnostic information, and did NOT offer any safety assessment. They refused to authorize towing, refused to authorize inspection, and told me to pay out of pocket for a rental despite the vehicle being unsafe and unusable. The dealership also stated they have no way to repair the recalls and provided no solution or timeline and refused a loaner vehicle. The vehicle cannot be safely driven the 40+ miles to the dealership due to the prior failure. This vehicle is unsafe to operate, has already experienced the failure described in the open recalls, and the manufacturer is not providing any remedy, inspection, transport, or safe alternative transportation. We paid over $100,000 for this vehicle and currently cannot use it at all. I am reporting this because the defect has already occurred and poses a serious safety hazard to us and other drivers. We need NHTSA involvement because the manufacturer is refusing to address or acknowledge the danger despite documentation of total power loss in motion. This incident occurred MULTIPLE TIMES; date is a vague approximate.

Three active recalls on this vehicle currently and have not had the vehicle a full calendar year yet. Two pertaining to fire-risk recall which can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside vehicle. The recall instructions state there is an issue with battery and engine which can cause fire. The recall instructions state to not charge the vehicle nor park in garage and to park it outside away from buildings due to risk of thermal runway. The engine may contact materials which can also cause fire. Because of this, the vehicle is not safe to drive. My dealership (Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey) as well as Jeep has refused to provide a loaner vehicle or transportation assistance free of charge. They informed me I must pay out of pocket for a rental while the recall remedy is being developed causing me to pay for 2 vehicles at the same. There is currently no remedy for this issue and no timeframe of when it will be available. Stellantis has not provided any support despite the safety hazard and the fact that I cannot safely use this vehicle. This leaves me without transportation during a federally mandated safety recall involving a fire risk. I am filing a complaint with regards to the current recalls on the 2024 wrangler 4xe. My concerns are not only is this not a safe vehicle to be driving it is a lease, a lease that will devalue the car. Chrysler Jeep offered me a rental reimbursement which I can not afford due to the timeline they have given me. January for battery and “second quarter of next year” this could cost me over $7,200 (up to $60 a day with a wait time of 6 months to wait for a repair) along with my monthly lease payment and insurance I have to pay on car that I feel unsafe driving I can not afford to pay upfront for a rental. Not sure if this is a breach of contract on their end. To ask someone who needs car for work to drive a vehicle that could catch fire or loose power while driving is unacceptable. There is also an artilcle on wtol.com stating there is a DO NOT DRIVE issued for this particular model published 11/18/25 I want some sort of resolution asap. As of now I am not driving car. Was also told by Stellantis they would tow my car and give me a loaner. They disconnected my call never noted it in my file and when I called back they had no idea who told me that.

Hi, I am writing regarding my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), which is currently under both fire-risk safety recalls. I have been advised not to charge the vehicle and to keep it parked away from my home, buildings, and other cars due to the potential battery fire hazard. At this time, the dealership has confirmed that they are unable to perform the recall repair or provide a timeline for when the necessary parts and remedy will be available. As a result, the vehicle is not safe or practical to use and I am paying for a vehicle I cannot use for reasons intended. Given that the vehicle is unusable due to an unresolved safety defect, I am requesting an early lease termination or manufacturer-assisted replacement. I believe this falls under a reasonable expectation for relief when a vehicle cannot be safely operated and the manufacturer cannot complete the required recall repair within a reasonable timeframe. Please open a case for review and advise on the next steps. I am happy to provide any additional documentation you may need, including the recall notice and my communications with the dealer. I have called Jeep & Stellantis multiple times and neither are willing to help me resolve this issue. I have also opened a case with the BBB. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe My vehicle has two separate critical safety recalls with no remedy available: High-voltage battery fire risk (vehicle may catch fire even when parked; cannot charge; must park outside). Recall 68C for engine contamination with sand causing catastrophic engine failure, fire, and sudden loss of propulsion. Jeep states that repair parts are unavailable for both recalls. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unusable for transportation. I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler under an active safety recall involving the high-voltage battery. Jeep has stated that there is no repair available and advised owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park it in a garage or near structures due to a potential fire risk. This creates a major safety hazard, and I am unable to use the vehicle as intended. My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under two active safety recalls: Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involving high voltage battery fire risk, and Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V766) unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion which is also currently unresolved. Recall 68C instructs owners NOT to recharge the vehicle and to park it away from structures due to potential fire. No remedy exists for either recall. The vehicle is leased and cannot be used normally or safely. Stellantis has not provided a remedy, replacement, or loaner. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the severity of the defects, the lack of an available fix, and the significant safety impact to consumers.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Contamination in the central vision processing module or improper programming may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the central vision processing module software or replace the module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 46D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles. The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HCP software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 04B.
