The contact owned a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH and the vehicle hydroplaned and rolled over eight times. The contact stated that none of the air bags were deployed. In addition, the contact stated that the failure occurred while it was raining. The contact stated that his mother and his pets were passengers in the vehicle at the time. The contact sustained injuries were a dislocated left shoulder, a broken left index finger, a fractured right foot, a fractured rib, and a head injury which caused migraine headaches. The contact's mother sustained injuries were a fractured arm, a head injury, injuries to both feet and knees, and a chest injury that caused difficulty breathing. The contact and his mother received medical treatment at the scene of the crash. The contact stated that he and his passengers were transported to a nearby hotel. The contact stated that because of financial situations, they were unable to go to the local medical center for further treatment. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

UNKNOWN. Jeep’s dashboard and the indicator by shift (Park) illuminates randomly while parked and drains the battery. After the latest event battery voltage tested to 4.4V. Jeep won’t even make a click sound when trying to start. This happened first week of new car delivery and three more times within past eight months. I spoke to the sales agent after first event and he said it will be noted. Second time dealer service replaces both main and auxiliary battery. A month later dealer service just recharged both batteries for the same issue. Now the jeep is having same issue and taken to the dealership for service. Engine light also came on after the latest event. The jeep is still at the service center for last 13 days. They informed me that both batteries are replaced and the error codes for engine light are P1AE2 and P1E75. I’m not aware of any other attempts to find the cause of the issue.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that after reversing out of a parking space and shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, which then glanced off the rear of another parked vehicle, coming to a complete stop after colliding with a concrete pillar. The contact also stated that while the vehicle was accelerating, he did make attempts to maneuver and slow the vehicle but the steering wheel and brake pedal both failed to respond. Both the driver and passenger side air bags were deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who was unable to duplicate the failure and/or provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. Both the driver and his passenger were transported to an area hospital following the accident for treatment. The contact was treated for a broken left wrist and bruised ribs while the passenger was treated for 3 broken ribs and shoulder pain. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,025.

The dealership states there are NO active recalls on the vehicle. I’ve taken it in multiple times for the same complaints but they always say they “cannot reproduce” the issue and brush me off. This vehicle seems to have something wrong with the transmission and is often jumpy during acceleration and often times struggles with the braking process. It almost seems like it’s getting a burst of acceleration that I have to fight against while braking. It has been quite scary at times. I have stopped charging the vehicle bc the charger gets incredibly hot near the handle, even when I use public chargers. One time the vehicle died while I was driving at approximately 55 miles per hour. The dealership stated it was bc I was “low on gas” and blew it off as user error.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4XE, and Jeep Gladiator vehicles. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring and electric hydraulic power steering pump, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is 21D. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Consequence: A disabled rearview image can decrease the driver's visibility of the rear view, and disabled reverse lights may not alert others that the vehicle is reversing, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the HV battery fuse, as necessary. Dealers will also inspect the battery assembly for damage and replace it, if necessary. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 9 Vehicle Owner's Questionnaire (VOQ) reports, 1 Death and Injury report, and multiple field reports alleging incidents of engine compartment fires in model year (MY) 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. The majority of the reports describe a fire occurring while the ignition in the vehicle was in an ‘OFF’ state with a suspected origin at the passenger front side of the engine compartment. An ignition ‘OFF’ vehicle fire can result in an increased risk of occupant injury, injury to persons outside the vehicle, and property damage, with little to no warning. ODI has contacted the vehicle manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), and learned of several thermal events originating at the power steering pump electrical connector in recent model year Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. The location of the pump connector is located at the passenger front side of the engine compartment, coinciding with the majority of fire reports known to ODI. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to assess the cause, scope, and frequency of the alleged defect. Recall 22V-865 was issued by the manufacturer to address an engine shutdown condition in certain MY 2021-2023 Wrangler 4xe vehicles. The complaints noted here contain both post recall remedy failures and failures in vehicles not included within the scope of 22V-865. An analysis comparing complaints received before the issuance of recall 22V-865 and complaints outside the scope of the recall has been conducted. The results show the current complaint rate is higher in the out of scope vehicles than it was for vehicles that were later covered by the recall. ODI is opening this Recall Query (RQ) to assess the severity of the alleged defect in vehicles not included in recall 22V-865.ODI will also assess the scope and remedy effectiveness of the recall.
