The contact later disconnected the battery terminals, cleaned the terminals, and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that the instrument cluster remained black and the failure was persistent. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, who advised that the vehicle was not under any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while attempting to start her vehicle, the instrument panel was dark. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to have the dealer apply for a goodwill assistance application which the dealer requested; however, the manufacturer denied the request. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The failure mileage was 84,000.
The instrument cluster stopped working while driving. The panel is now black with no vehicle information displayed. The vehicle matches the description for a recall that has already been issued, but this VIN was not included in the recall. The current recall should be expanded to include this VIN #.
Loss of power. Vehicle went into limp mode. Codes P00AF, P24B1 and P1DB1. Vehicle only has 28,500 miles and is having constant electrical issues.
My information cluster screen is blank.
Steering wheel gets very hot and the steering wheel and steering column start to smoke. Burning smell is toxic. This is a safety issue that needs to be repaired by Jeep.

I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. The instrument cluster on my Jeep had been flashing for awhile back in 2022 and finally went completely black in December 2022. I could not see my digital speed, gas, etc. I finally took it to the dealership in July of 2023 after saving money for the repair (since it was no longer under warranty) and it ended up being the instrument cluster that went bad. $1k + repair later and here we are with other Jeeps having the instrument cluster recalled when mine fell within the criteria but I have not received anything about a refund for the recall that we had to pay for.

My Jeep wrangler required the instrument panel to be replaced due to failure. The entire console lighting went dark while I was driving. I had not information on my speed and it made me take my eyes off the road when I tried to figure out what happened I did not have an accident but my fear Jeep is not issuing a recall to all the vehicles affected. Notified them of the safety concern by in January of 2022. My vehicle was not issued in the recall and they would not cover the repair even though it was the instrument panel failure on my repair bill. I was unable to look at the mph. Submitted complaint to Jeep of instrument panel failure.
The instrument panel on this vehicle has failed and gone blank. Same issue as noted in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Consequence: Overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the clutch assembly and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed from November 16, 2023 through July 25, 2024. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) is opening a Preliminary Evaluation on 2020 Model Year Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers involving a malfunctioning Instrument Panel Clusters (IPC) resulting in the loss of important vehicle metrics and other status information. ODI has received 89 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) alleging a complete or partial loss of the IPC display while driving. The subject vehicles' IPC display includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, turn signal indicators, warning light, and other gauges that are normally illuminated while the vehicle is in operation. Loss of the fuel gauge while driving may lead to an inability to determine the fuel level and result in a loss of motive power, and the loss of other safety-related information may impede a driver’s ability to take action to prevent a safety risk. Furthermore, an IPC that is suddenly not visible to the driver may divert the driver’s attention from the driving task, potentially causing a vehicle crash. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation to evaluate the scope, severity and frequency of the alleged IPC malfunctions and to assess potential safety-related consequences. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE21-021 on October 14, 2021, to investigate incidents alleging a stall/loss of motive power as a result of high-pressure fuel pump failures in certain model year (MY) 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 heavy duty trucks equipped with 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel engines. During the investigation, ODI sought to determine if the related defect allegation was limited in scope to the recalled population. After review of information request response materials from both FCA and BMW, NHTSA determined that sufficient information to identify a comprehensive recall population could not be produced by FCA and BMW.During the investigation FCA filed recalls 22V406, 22E048, 22V767, and 22E087 which include vehicles not identified in the initial subject population by ODI. ODI also received recall 21V586, involving loss of motive power due to failed CP4 fuel pumps on certain BMW manufactured vehicles. An information request letter response received from BMW indicated that failed pumps on their vehicles were caused by an interaction between pump internal components and US market diesel fuel, leading to increased slip and eventual particle-generating wear surface.
