2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE

Continued electrical over discharge resulting in battery failure. Problem remains undiagnosed by dealer, multiple engine / transmission / seat malfunction error codes. Hybrid engine does not take over driving as operated. Concerned this may present as a fire hazard for one as electrical systems are not communicating in a hybrid vehicle. Secondary concern that the vehicle will suddenly lose power while driving at put driver and others at risk of accident. This problem has occurred more than three times since ownership. Vehicle has been owned less than 1 month and was purchased brand new. Initial problem occurred within less than 600 miles of ownership. Vehicle starter battery has been significantly discharged since ownership under normal operations. Was initially advised by the Jeep dealership that 'the wrong battery was installed at the factory' and that changing the battery would solve the issue. Shortly after this service (approximately one week), the problem occurred again. Further diagnostics have remained unclear without resolution via the dealer.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine light illuminated. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the hybrid propulsion system generator. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 3,000.

2024 Jeep Hybrid- one month into purchasing it in March of 2024, the engine completely blew. It was in the shop over a month waiting for a new engine. Last month, my charger would not charge the vehicle - they stated nothing was wrong and it was electrical in my own home which is incorrect considering we use the same outlet to charge another hybrid vehicle. This week, 200k jeeps (mine included) were recalled due to vehicles starting on fire from the charging. The recall states there is no fix at this time and to just not charge your vehicle. I paid much more for a hyrbid vehicle, and now unable to use it for safety reasons.

In emergency situations where the hybrid system does indeed have a critical issue, this lack of attention could result in delayed reactions or inadequate responses, increasing the risk of accidents. Additionally, this issue can cause unnecessary anxiety and confusion, particularly when no definitive fault is identified, leaving the driver unsure of the vehicle’s actual safety status. This ambiguity poses a risk, especially in situations requiring immediate attention to a legitimate hybrid system malfunction. Given the number of reports from fellow Jeep Wrangler 4xe owners who are experiencing similar issues and the potential safety risks involved, I believe this warrants a thorough investigation by Jeep and its parent company to determine whether a safety recall is necessary. I would appreciate confirmation that this report will be reviewed and the appropriate actions taken to mitigate any risks associated with this warning system.

As I was driving on the interstate, a red turtle appeared on the control panel saying that power has been reduced. Approximately 2 minutes later the entire engine shut down at 55mph. I pulled over and placed the Jeep into park and attempted to restart the truck. The Jeep would power on and immediately shut off. I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership (Tate Chrysler and Jeep in Glen Burnie, MD) where it is currently being serviced.
