While driving in electric mode, sometimes I would lose power. One example is on the freeway while cruising at freeway speeds. I noticed my speed decreases and i have to press the accelerator pedal more than normal. Even after depressing it more than normal, the gauge on the battery power wont move and the speed continues to decrease (charge level can be at 50%, 80%, or lower). It also happens to me after stops at stop sign or intersection. When in EV mode, my light would turn green or its clear to continue into the intersection, the vehicle will barely creep out of a stop to the point that I would almost get t-boned at a T intersection. I have to floor the accelerator down to the floor in order to get the gas engine to turn on (while in EV mode with adequate charge on battery) and violently push me forward. Happens a few times a week both on highway or intersections.

This was at night with other vehicles traveling at high speed on the road as well. Lucky to be alive. The vehicle was towed into the Jeep dealer on Rt 18 in New Jersey and they returned it saying they had applied a "software update." Glad they feel like a software update is worth someone's life. On two separate occasions while driving my vehicle, I lost the ability to accelerate although my car still appeared to be on and functioning normally. This resulted in me needing to pull over to a complete stop on the highway as the accelerator was completely ineffective and I continued to decelerate to unsafe highway speeds. I had to turn the jeep off and then back on to get it to work normally again. I contacted the dealership regarding this matter and they advised they did an “update” on the vehicle on 6/3/24.

I picked up my new wrangler from the dealer on Friday [XXX]. On Saturday [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] on my way to Amherst, MA. Since I was on the highway, I was traveling between 65-75 mph. About 30 minutes into the trip the vehicle began to jerk and the engine was sputtering. When pushing on the gas pedal the car would jerk and lose any acceleration. I began to slow down as the car jerked and lost all acceleration. I had to pull over on the busy highway as the car could not maintain speed over 30 mph. I luckily was about two miles from a rest area and I drove in the shoulder and exited. The check engine light was on and the engine was making a very loud noise and seemed to be stuck in a high gear. Once we were safely in the parking area, I turned off the engine and the vehicle was towed to a dealer in Albany NY. The car remained at the dealer and I picked it up on Wednesday [XXX]. The tech at the dealer said they applied a bunch of software updates, road tested it and everything seemed good. I picked up the car on Wednesday [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] after driving roughly 30 miles in total, the vehicle did the same thing while driving. This time I was in a residential area. I had to turn around and lump to park the car in my parents driveway. The car was subsequently towed back to the repair shop on Friday [XXX]. I am currently awaiting an update on status.

This happened multiple times and happens every time the vehicle come to a stop at a red light or stop sign. I took the vehicle to the dealership and explained the problem and they placed me in a loaner car for a day or 2. When I was called to come the car everything seemed fine. They said the car “needed to be updated” I drove off and it was okay that afternoon and had no begun to stall and shut off in the street once again.

Well this is the second time in a week. “service transmission” comes on the dash and turns vehicle off. Cannot do anything but put in park. Sit for 10 to 15 mins and the vehicle will turn on again. Has no codes for the dealer to check. Will not drive again until its fixed.
