IT STARTED OUT WITH STUMBLING IDLE AND STALLING AFTER REFUELING. WHICH WAS DANGEROUS AS IT WOULD DO IT FOR UP TO A MILE AFTERWARDS WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. NOW MY PROBLEM IS THE JEEP WILL NOT REFUEL. YOU PUT THE NOZZLE IN AND IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT AND IT KICKS OFF. PULL THE NOZZLE OUT AND REINSERT IT AND IT…

AFTER REFUELING MY VEHICLE WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM THE PUMP, IT STARTED BUCKING AND STALLED COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD THE BUCKING AND SURGING UNSTABLE IDLE AFTER REFUELING. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE AS TIME GOES ON. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON RIGHT ABOUT 6 MONTHS.

MY ONLINE RESEARCH HAS UNCOVERED OTHER JEEP PATRIOT OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH NO RECOURSE BUT TO PAY OUT-OF-POCKET FOR A NEW FUEL TANK. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED $1400.00 TO HAVE THE FUEL TANK REPLACED. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY CHRYSLER JEEP IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE WITH THE 2009 PATRIOT. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN KNOWING HOW MANY JEEP PATRIOT OWNERS HAD TO HAVE THEIR GAS TANKS REPLACED AND IF CHRYSLER JEEP HAS REPAIR RECORDS OF GAS TANK REPLACEMENTS DONE IN THEIR REPAIR SHOPS. WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS FIXED?
