The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while the vehicle was driven over 60 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound coming from the muffler. The contact merged to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle, and after the engine cooled down, the vehicle functioned properly if the vehicle did not exceed 60 MPH. On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked outside a store, the contact went back to start the vehicle, and the brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was started; however, the transmission failed to shift into drive or reverse. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 714.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2024-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L, 2025-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, 2026 Jeep Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Wagoneer L PHEV vehicles. Due to a software error, the tire pressure monitoring system may fail to detect low tire pressure and/or fail to illuminate the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of low tire pressure increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the radio frequency hub software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 29, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 54D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 9, 2026.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2023-2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. A software error in the occupant restraint controller module may cause the delayed deployment of the side air bags during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 214, "Side Impact Protection."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Delayed air bag deployment during a crash increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will update the occupant restraint controller module software, free of charge. Some owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 18, 2026.
