2019 Jeep Cherokee

Drive shaft busted at approximately 54, 900 miles. Was explained to me by my mechanic how bad this was, and that this could have been gravely injurious to me and others, and that I got lucky. Approximately one month later the air compressor went. The 4WD service light comes on, which suggests a drivetrain problem, as well, though could be an electrical issue. Both repairs were costly. This is unacceptable for a car under or around 55,000 miles and is well-maintained.

Vehicle power train unit was recalled 01/23/2025 for failing parts, however, no parts are available for a fix, Jeep/FCA are not aware when the parts will be available and/or when the recall will be completed. The failure of the PTU can cause dangerous, if not fatal results, including a lower of drive power, a vehicle crash, a loss of park function, and even death. The PTU is recalled, however, I have also already replaced it once and paid out of pocket.

Grinding/binding when backing up or turning the vehicle. Vehicle was taken to dealership 12/28/2023 where I was charged 306.00 to diagnose the issue. Estimate to repair was 4291.66 on a vehicle that had 23,823 miles on it. Went to 3 independent mechanics for estimates and none would touch the vehicle because Jeep would not release the codes for software or provide information for a fix. 01C/NHTSA 25V-011 recall notice then received 2/2025 with NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. Registered for recall and signed up for notifications when parts are available and still waiting as of July 3, 2025. Manufacturer has failed to provide timely repairs of my vehicle which is now slow to accelerate on the highway, noise is louder, binding is worse on turning and backup. Vehicle is useless to drive any distance away from home. Independent mechanics are vocal about how Jeep should be ashamed of their tactics. Need my car fixed or replaced at this point. Total failure of manufacturer. Will submit receipts for reimbursement of diagnostics costs from Jeep dealership also.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the 4-WD warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the power transfer unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. My 2019 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L engine is consuming an excess amount of oil. I took it to the dealership and the only solution I was given was to replace my entire engine. I looked up recalls for this, there are none. Never received anything from JEEP like other people online have regarding excess oil consumption. I have to now get oil changes every 1,500 miles… The oil light doesn’t come on, instead, every time I go to make a turn. The car turns off while driving or stalls. Very dangerous

The rear differential developed a crack along the outer edge, resulting in a peeling effect along the edge of the unit resulting in fluid loss. We were informed by our dealer (who discovered the issue) that the part needs to be replaced to prevent full failure of the part and a catastrophic event on the road. I called Jeep to seek financial assistance and was told to get an official diagnosis from the dealer, ($180) which I paid for, in order to submit my claim to Jeep and request for reimbursement of approximately $4,200 for replacement part, labor and required wheel alignment. I submitted to Jeep the official dealer diagnosis and receipts for repair. There were no warning lamps or symptoms other than the fluid loss and visual cracks on the differential housing. We were informed by the dealer that they have experienced and repaired one other vehicle with the exact problem and that this is a common and known problem on specific model year Jeep Cherokees. I paid out of pocket for the repair, as we could not afford the 3-6 month time wait for the dealer to resolve financial assistance for the replacement. Note - Jeep Care asked me to submit documents directly to them regarding my claim and assigned CASE number-93372499. Which I did. They then responded and advised I contact my dealer for financial assistance. Which I did. The dear contacted Stellantis and then responded that since I prepaid for the repair, no financial assistance will be given. I then reached out the Wisconsin Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Protection to contact Stelantis on my behalf. They contacted Stellantis, and received a reply that since I am out of warranty, I will receive no financial assistance. So, Stellantis provided two different answers to my request. Informing the dealer since I prepaid, I will receive nothing, and informing Wisconsin that since I am out of warranty, I will receive nothing. Two different answers to the same request.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH and while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The contact pulled over to the side of the road turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle started operating as intended. The contact stated that a dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transfer case, rear axle, and exhaust pipe needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V01100 (POWER TRAIN); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall; however, the VIN was added later, there was a possibility of being reimbursed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 122,000.
