SEAT BELT ON DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT PROTECT DRIVER OF 2006 JAGUAR S TYPE WHEN REAR ENDED BY PICK UP TRUCK ON JULY 30,2010. RESULT OF ACCIDENT CAUSE HEAD TO HIT SUNVISOR AND STEERING WHEEL CAUSING HEAD AND CHEST INJURY. THE FRONT PASSENGERS SEAT BELT DID KEEP PASSENGER SECURE ONLY RESULTING IN WHIP LASH. *TR

CERTAIN SEDANS MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL GUIDE PLATE.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: CONSEQUENTLY 'PARK' MAY NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE LEVER IN THE VEHICLE IS MOVED TO 'PARK" AND ALL INDICATORS SHOW 'PARK' POSITION IS ACHIEVED.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PARKING PAWL GUIDE PLATE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN NOVEMBER 22, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-800-452-4827.
