I TRIED OPENING THE HANDLE FROM OUTSIDE THINKING IT WAS CHILD LOCKS BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN THAT WAY EITHER. BOTH HANDLES MOVE BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, AND I HAVE MADE SURE THE LOCK IS FULLY UNLOCKED. MECHANIC SAYS IT IS POWER LOCK ACTUATOR. THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO OPEN THIS DOOR WITHOUT SPECIFIC TOOLS. NOTHING HAS HIT THE DOOR INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
I REAR ENDED A CAR INFRONT OF ME THAT HAD STOPPED ABRUPTLY, I WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MPH AND THE IMPACT WAS SO HARD I SLAMMED MY CHEST ON THE STEERING WHEEL, IT ENDED UP DOING 13,000 DOLLARS OF DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END BUT NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYTED.
DRIVING HWY SPEEDS 65MPH, CAR LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND ALMOST KILLED BY TRUCK WHILE CHANGING LANES. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD. CAR THEN DIED, LOCKED, AND CAN NOT BE OPENED WITH PHYSICAL KEY, KEY FOB NOR BLUELINK REMOTE. CAR IS BRAND NEW JULY PURCHASE 1800 MILES. BLUELINK SHOWS 0 PROBLEMS UNDER DIAGNOSTICS.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WHEN UNLOCKED WITH EITHER OUTSIDE HANDLE NOR INSIDE HANDLE WITHOUT JARRING DOOR. SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO GET CHILDREN OUT OF CARSEAT
POWER DOOR LOCKS/DOOR ACTUATORS STOP WORKING WHICH PREVENTS DOOR FROM OPENING FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE ON BOTH REAR DOORS AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. DOORS WOULD REMAIN LOCKED AFTER DRIVING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE FOR ANY PASSENGERS.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The instrument panel display software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 22, 2026. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Tucson and Santa Cruz vehicles. The console extension wiring assembly may be routed improperly, allowing the transmission to be shifted out of Park without applying the brake pedal.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A transmission that can shift out of Park without applying the brake pedal can result in a vehicle roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised to use the parking brake when parking the vehicle. Dealers will reroute the console extension wiring assembly, free of charge. NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.
