While driving, all of a sudden I got a "Stop vehicle and check power supply" message on my dash and the car slowed down. I could not accelerate. It was dangerous as I was driving during commute time. I had the car towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. The car completely died (no power) while parked at the dealer parking lot. After diagnosing the car, the technician said it was an ICCU failure.

The ICCU in my Hyundai Ioniq 5 failed catastrophically today ([XXX]) after only 3109 mlles. I believe this to be the case because: • I heard a loud pop from behind me in the car. • The car immediately lost power and would only go very slowly. • An alert about the electrical system immediately came on and told me to stop driving as soon as possible. • A rather loud alarm sounded. • DTC P1A9096 appeared in my Bluelink app. All these point to a failed ICCU. The ICCU chip failed. This chip communicates between the propulsion battery and the smaller, traditional 12v battery. The chip failed, and the car thinks the propulsion battery is dead. This is very common occurrence I have learned, the ICCU chip is continuously on back-order.

While driving in traffic I heard a loud pop coming from the rear of the vehicle. A warning light came on on the dash board and the vehicle immediately slowed to about 10 mph. This was a dangerous situation as I was actively passing a vehicle on the highway and could have ended up colliding with oncoming traffic!
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Ioniq 5 and 2026 Ioniq 9 vehicles. The fasteners for the rear suspension may loosen and detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear suspension fasteners and perform a rear vehicle alignment, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 17, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 303. The right-side headlight may have an incorrect headlight aim label, which can result in improperly aimed headlights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Improperly aimed headlights can result in insufficient illumination of the road, decreasing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 "N" vehicles equipped with left-foot braking (LFB) and N e-shift features. The integrated electronic brake (IEB) and vehicle control unit (VCU) software may cause reduced braking performance when LFB is activated. Additionally, the vehicle may continue to accelerate after the pedal is released and the vehicle's N e-shift feature is engaged.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Reduced braking performance and unexpected, continued acceleration increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to use the LFB or N e-Shift features until the remedy has been performed. The IEB and VCU software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. This recall replaces NHTSA recall number 25V-065. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Consequence: Reduced braking performance can increase the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners who have not received the recall remedy are advised not to use the LFB feature until the updated remedy has been performed. Additionally, owners who have received the recall remedy are advised not to use the 'N' E-shift feature until the updated remedy has been performed.
