AC stopped working as both condenser and evaporator are leaking. But they only recall condenser currently. They should recall on both. When the A/C doesn't work, the car can't defrost the windshield properly, which is a USDOT defined safety issue.

My air conditioner stopped working in June 2024 following during a long trip in 100+ degree weather since it was blowing only air temperature air. I took it to Honda of Escondido and they determined it was the evaporator. The cost of the repair was ,$2823 on with 64,971 miles on my car. I've been told that it's a safety hazard to drive in a car without AC because of the fact the window defroster won't work, thus making it difficult to drive safely. In addition, during our road trip, we had to keep stopping to get ice water to cool ourselves off. It was not safe to be driving in the car long distance in high temperatures.

Hello, I have received a safety recall notice (23V-858) from Honda back in February and another one in July. I have tried to get them to repair it a few times, but they said they do not have the part yet but should have it sometime in the fall. They are telling me that they are only fixing cars with issues at the moment, which I cannot with 100% certainty say my car has the issue they are talking about. The CSR told me that I would have to pay for diagnostics if they found my car not having the issue in question, which of course I do not want to do. My question is, does Honda not have the duty to fix my car in a timely manner if they have issued a recall for it? I have been waiting for at least 7 months now? That is way too long? Thank you for your attention in this matter [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The AC evaporator failed with only ~ 35000 miles. This is required to make the defroster work properly, a safety issue. It was replaced at my expense when the condenser was replaced under a mfg recall. There were no warnings lights, just warm air.
