TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HARLEY-DAVIDSON TRI-GLIDE(NA). THE ENGINE EXPELS EXCESSIVE EXHAUST AND HEAT THAT BURNED HER LEGS AND CLOTHES. SHE HAS PHOTOGRAPHS DISPLAYING THE BURNS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HARLEY-DAVIDSON TRI-GLIDE(NA). THE ENGINE EXPELS EXCESSIVE EXHAUST AND HEAT THAT BURNED HER LEGS AND CLOTHES. SHE HAS PHOTOGRAPHS DISPLAYING THE BURNS. HER LEGS WERE POSITIONED CORRECTLY ON THE MOTORCYCLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN WEATHER WITH TEMPERATURES ABOVE 80 DEGREES. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1. UPDATED 02/18/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE HEAT WAS COMING FROM THE PIPES. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS FEELING SO MUCH FEET FROM THE PIPES, SHE HAD TO RAISE HER FEET UP IN AN UNSAFE MANNER. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER IT WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT THEY WERE NOT AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY MODIFICATIONS TO THE BIKE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS. A FAN WAS ORDERED TO HELP COOL THE MOTOR DOWN, BUT WHEN THEY WENT TO PUT IT ON THE BIKE, IT WOULD NOT FIT THE TRIGLIDE WITHOUT ADDITIONAL REMOVAL OF NECESSARY EQUIPMENT THAT WAS STANDARD ON THE BIKE.
