May 3 2026 was traveling on highway when my 2023 dually duramax wheels locked up on me causing me to hit a guard rail and then truck would not go into any gear and was toast after first dealership it went to was valve body repair and after 1400 dollars it went to another dealer on June 17th to Frank brown for transmission replacement due to failed valve body issue similar to special bulletin n242454441 GMC executive office promised to replace and take Care of me since I am a “valuable customer and instead they lied and went back on their word and left me with another bill of 9,300 dollars for repairs 6200 for transmission and 3000 dollars for labor???? I am feeling like I’m being taken advantage of and need help I’ve lost my job since this has happened and struggling to pay for the truck it’s self but I am maintaining and when they are hoping I get it repossessed so they can get away with not having to deal with my case I’ve gotten under delivered promised and they haven’t helped me at all for something. They are avoiding to admit is an issue when the truck was manufactured and put into sale 10/2022 as for the recalled vehicles from 2019 and 2022 and I continue to tell them this truck was manufactured 2022 they are trying to get away with technical wording when this truck has an safety issue for sure as a consumer and hard working American I need help

Feb 1, 2024

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An unlatched tailgate may open while driving and result in a loss of unsecured cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232426400.
